The Muppets Present the International House of Presidents.

A concept restaurant where you are served fruit-laden pancakes while being regaled by dancing audioanimatronics depicting famous world leaders from throughout history. Be prepared for a little Muppet Mayhem when you ask your server for more Blueberry Jam on your pancakes!

This is the colab we never knew we needed! IHOP could use the patronage.

Yup. I'm the guy who doesn't think attractions should be replaced.

HoP should be replaced.

It's not a great show, it's not particularly historically significant as an attraction (it's a less interesting footnote to Mr Lincoln and American Adventure in any cultural consideration of Disney parks), and it occupies a very tricky cultural and political spot in modern America, celebrating a broadly shared frame of reference, a post-war consensus, that simply doesn't exist any longer. It's just not worth the trouble. Put the Muppets in there.
Hit it the nail on the head. AA just outclasses it on every front. Also (this is my opinion), since the MK is going full steam head with the new “Whimsical landscapes inspired by Americana” base for Frontierland/former rivers area with cars, and MK has always kinda been the park of fantasy and things like that, maybe it should have an American history show that reflects that. The muppets are insane. They could do a show anywhere on anything and it would still be in character. I say give it is shot if it happens. Could be something special.

I had just written a two paragraph response and thought....why bother. If you are at the point where anything goes, then why bother with any thematic consistency anywhere?...

They kind of talk about that in AA...and since Frontierland is going to become Cars Road Rallye, I don't even understand what Frontierland will be... Will the rockwork mountains begin at the edge of the pavement where the former ROA ended? The Concept art looks as though that will be an overlook into the Road Rallye attraction...So honestly I don't understand how you can have any semblance of a "Frontier Era" with googly eyed cars and off roading visible from Pioneer hall and the Diamond Horseshoe... and if it is about adventurers and natural beauty why do they have to have mountains shaped like car parts? Yeah yeah... the Cars franchise... but aren't googly eyed cars enough of a presence without having to make the natural environment conform to the franchise as well? Especially when it will all be visible from a wide swath of the park?

They're retooling what the Frontier in Frontierland stands for, imo. They implied as much in the presentation. It's not so much "Westernland" now, but rather, "American-Wildernessland", so to speak. So, a bayou adventure, a runaway mine train, the Country Bears putting on a show, and a ride through a forest on a dirt path definitely fits that.

For a time a lot of us thought maybe we'd get mini-New Orleans Square, but turns out, nah, Frontierland's just changing up as a whole.

And, I mean, Adventureland has about as disparate a theme. Tiki Room doesn't have much to do with going on a cruise along the Nile except "tropical plants", and neither have much to do with Agrabah except the rough connection of "adventure in a non-American/European locale".

Not trying to defend what they're doing per se, I'd rather the Rivers stay. But, there IS a theme. It's not completely random placement.

Hall of Presidents to be replaced by House of Rock featuring Aerosmith.

When it's announced, I want my creds.

Not gonna’ happen, sooo…

Also quick ask for anyone in the know, how long out do they usually announce changes to HOP in the past? I know that Disney will have to say something about the future of HOP at some point. I’m just wondering as we get closer to January, if a lack of any kinda word sorta spells doom in a montropolis kinda way. It’s not scheduled for a refurb yet, but I’m sure that’s normal.

I kinda feel like if it IS getting an overhaul, they won’t announce it until HOP is already closed. Close it in January like it’s a routine swap out and in March drop that it’s actually coming back with Muppets 🤷🏻‍♂️

For Biden, they announced the refurb closure the day it closed. There was no prior announcement. For Trump’s first term, the refurb closure was announced before the 2016 election due to there for sure being a new president. I can’t remember if there was an additional announcement after the election before the closure. For Obama, HoP closed on Halloween 2008 because there was more extensive work being done, not just adding the new president.

Thank you, appreciate it. I imagine that Disney is probably weighing it’s options right now. as much as it has historical importance, it feels like a holdover from the old Frontierland/rivers of America section they are trying to move away from. Who knows what happens though.
