Jack at DSNY posted a video a few weeks ago showing a new ride system oddly similar to what is shown in Brazil. With the ride system from Dynamic Attractions. shown at the 16:28 mark

For what it's worth, this forum has been theorizing that it could be the Dynamic Attractions system since as far back as August...

This sounds like exactly what this ride would need..

As far as the need for this to be trackless as opposed to a slot car system...
So, here's a question-if the ride vehicles will be just following a linear path in this attraction, why is a trackless system needed?

One of the aspects of the ride is that it's supposed to be a rally race, not just a vehicle going off roading, and one of the features of this system is that it will allow the vehicles to take slightly different paths that may cross throughout the course of the "race", something that wouldn't be possible with the slot car system.

Yes, just now realizing this is a very cool possibility for the action within the race, that the rally cars could change position left to right and in front and behind of other vehicles, giving the sense of what an actual rally race would be like with vehicles maneuvering around each other throughout. Just like in the indoor trackless systems you get that fun unexpected experience and get to enjoy multiple ride-thrus with variations as well.

I'm optimistic on this "land" As they say, the proof is in the pudding, so Disney will really need to deliver to justify the huge change to existing topography within the park as opposed to regular expansion.

It was explored for Radiator Springs Racers. Would have been cool if they pulled it off.

Cross overs don’t though require true trackless systems. Trackless rides don’t use autonomous systems where the vehicle is making a decision in the moment. They’re following preprogrammed paths. Huge sums are spent on technology that allows months/years of endless futzing with minor variations in the ride path.
