i can only speak to the one time I saw it which was a week ago - the crowd reactions were very positive with people starting to line up more than 2 hours ago. just a lot of energy in the crowd and really strong reaction to all the floats

now, is that because it is Starlight specifically or because it is a Night Time Show in any form, I can't say but interest seems to be there, at least for the 9pm show

I am sure they are getting feedback back but I also think it will take some time to shake out and see how long the interest lasts, still pretty new

I agree. I think that the 9pm performance is largely “just something there to watch” while people wait for main offering which is the fireworks. The 11pm parade is the more telling one as far as popularity. Like you said though it’s still new and I think more difficult to tell if its popular or not unlike the nighttime shows.

Im glad I wasn’t the only one who thought that. The beginning of Mannheims Deck The Halls 🤣.
Dig deeper into that album you’ll notice allot. I also want to take note that they used the same synth sounds and musical style they did in the original Fantasy in the sky which was symphonic but had allot of synthesizing as well and they used that style in this as well.

We just saw this twice. I watched it ahead on YouTube and was excited to see a new night parade but wasn’t sure how I felt. First time we watched a few rows back in Liberty Square and we enjoyed it, especially the 4 year old. Second time we watched up close near the Train Station and it was spectacular. I saw Spectro but remember it the way a kid does so in hazy clips, and we always loved MSEP. Honestly the only real criticism is no walking characters. In FoF, characters will walk up and interact with my kids and it’s awesome—this is a no go for that type of interaction. Unlike others here, I actually find the premise quite dreamy. Love the use of older characters like the Blue Fairy and like the idea of the characters kind of existing in this dreamy twilight of not fully being aware of everything. I actually really liked Wendy’s line where she says Peter do you think those people can hear us. It feels like we’re a part of their dream and they are a part of ours. Plussing it with more street walkers would make it a real stand out. It’s much better in person and generally better than the summary here imo of course.

Pacing was much better tonight compared to when I saw it a couple weeks ago, at least in Town Square. The floats were not racing to see how fast they could make it down Main Street. You actually could enjoy each one and experience the music transitions as well.

I read so much here about how quick the floats were going that when I finally saw it in person last week I almost thought they were going "slow" but I think it was proper speed, just hit me that it wasn't fast. Seems like they have that element down now and gave each float some room for it's "moment"

Needs the whirlys, frozen should have all 5 main characters and a second float. Maybe remove 2 sections and have 2 floats for each section for longer soundtrack playtime and add another finale unit. Have the 6 other 7 dwarfs walking the route for sure and give chip and dale their own whirly balls.

I’m curious what feedback Disney is getting though. That’s what really matters and if they are seeing any positive guest satisfaction and especially an increase in spending then they will not be touching Starlight for a very very long time.
I think this is the most important thing. It's all about revenue.

Does the parade bring in extra food/bev/merch sales? Then there's no need to make any changes in their eyes.

All they really need to do to plus it is add character interaction in-between floats,,,there is no way they are going to spend millions to add new smaller floats. But getting some characters on foot would do a world of good and seems to be what most are requesting, However like someone else mentioned thats not easy either, a lot of red tape, and more performers on the payroll. They are super stingy when it comes to that. But this is really what the parade is lacking is characters, one heroine per float is about all we got here along with Coco. They need a better varied mix to be a part of it at least on the ground.

Could be something they look to add, say, next summer as a way to get people that have already seen it to want to see it again and something to promote

Came across this one recently, it's edited to fit the actual score compositions used in the parade.

So I have not seen live yet - no idea when we will get back. In this recording there are a number of times when the main theme plays between float songs. In almost all of these (in particular coco), there are small bits of thr style of float music intertwined with the main parade theme. For those who have seen it live is that what really happens? If so my kudos for the scoring and story just increased quite a bit as you do not hear that in what I can find on YouTube and definitely not in the official Disney release - but those few notes add a LOT!

There actually is a customized transition between each float! Woohoo!

You do hear the Starlight theme much more in person than in the Disney release. The Disney release is a pretty bad approximation of the actual guest experience.
