Walt Disney World Holiday Season 2024

LOL You must be new to the world of Disney's world-famous IT incompetence.

They don’t offer many of these after 5 pm because reasons.

I got 4:15 and plan to show up at 4:15 on the dot so that we are hopefully eating closer to 5.
The two restaurants I wanted didn't have anything after 2:30 PM, so I figured I might as well just make it a lunch. That's just too early for an early dinner.

Me too. I’m at the parties for the entertainment and shorter ride waits. Not wasting an hour eating at Pecos Bill. I’ll shovel “free” cookies in my mouth in the TBA line.
Ugh. The cookies at the Christmas party are individually wrapped-in-cellphane store-bought cookies. Such a waste and such a disappointment.

Stick to the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches you bring into the parks.

Yup.. at the Halloween party I grabbed soft serve for the kids during a RS and literally just chose first food booth, first item on the menu. We were all about the rides and shows.

Also, Biergarten won't accept a reservation for 1. So, I got it for 2. And will have a conversation at a later time with customer service about changing that. <sigh>
So there’s a quirk of the reservation system where you can modify and reduce the number of guests online even if there technically isn’t availability for the lower number you tried for. Try modifying it online and you will probably be able to reduce it to 1. I just had to do something similar to grab a reservation at Liberty Tree (don’t judge me) Veterans Day Weekend. I only needed for 2 people, but it would only let me book for 3, so I booked for 3 and then modified it down to 2.

Yeah, I had a mild argument with a CM host at Liberty Tavern when I showed up by myself for a waiting list reservation for two (because I couldn't make it for 1). Usually, I just lie that my 'friend' wasn't feeling well and went back to the hotel. But this time, I wanted to let them know about this problem.

And his response was that they don't have single tops (restaurant geek speak for tables).

And I said, "Yeah, I know. You have no tables with just one chair that sits just one person, and you have no lounge seating. A single person will always be at a table of two with an empty chair, just like a party of three will always be at a table of four with an empty chair. So, if you can currently seat two, you can seat one."

But he kept arguing that they didn't have single tops as if that was explanatory.

So, I'm back to lying.

I’m telling you. Insist you have a ghost friend and the discussion ends quickly.

Is it new that you get alcohol with these packages? Gonna get the $19 Riesling at Biergarten.
Yep previously it was: an appetizer, entrée and dessert, or one full buffet/family-style meal, as well as a nonalcoholic beverage

Now it is: an entrée and dessert or a full buffet, where applicable, as well as a nonalcoholic beverage (or alcoholic beverage for those 21 and older)

Is this in line with what you would receive with a single DDP TS redemption?
