The law addresses things that are considered personal devices - wheelchairs, speech generating devices, the adhd buzzer watches - would all, to my understanding, already fall under a category that businesses are not required to provide.
Exactly and my point is. We wanted to see Woody & Jesse but couldnt bc wait was minimum 1 hour to 2 all day long. Best “option” was the CM told me when to line up after they go on break but said it would still most likely be a solid 45 minutes. So when should i lawyer up and sue Disney ?In the past there was DAS for character meets that had LLs (any you could book online). But yes, there’s always been some that can’t use DAS. My guess is most have 1 person in their party wait for everyone, but seems odd people would be ok splitting up for that, yet not ride queues

The difference being you only need the desk at work. You likely need the walker to/from your car, home, anywhere you go (or most places) other than at work. As someone else mentioned, work accommodations for employees fall under a difference section of the law vs the public accommodations offered to customers.

It was a good observation on your part. When they removed the LL from M&G's then they also eliminated DAS for the M&G's, and that is somewhat unfortunate. Thanks for pointing it out!
Listen. We enjoy rides but also like characters hence why most if not all of my meals consist if them but unfortunately a decent amount obviously are not part of them so in the crazy & lunacy world we live in. Im actually shocked noone has sued them to this … it just makes you wonder sometimes as to why…. Lets face it. Im sure im not alone but some if my fondest and greatest memories have been character interactions… full disclosure. Im in NO way saying that i feel slighted that we had to skip these….

Some of the character meets and greets are DAS eligible. If they appear on the app, you can get DAS for them. So the Princess Halls in MK and the Main Street one in MK is DAS accessible. Just because there's no LL doesn't mean that there's no DAS entrance; PeopleMover has DAS availability in spite of no LL.
Yeah, and those of us with food allergies recognize that. I can't eat at Thai places because of my peanut allergy. I don't eat at O'hana because of my pineapple and nut allergies. It just doesn't make sense, plus there's too many areas where cross contamination can happen.
I gave a specific situation which had ZERO alternative. Had the same issue again today in Epcot… again im 100% fine with it. Trust me but as i stated initially. The lunacy world we live in where everyone wants to sue and feel the need complain about everything. Im shocked noone has in regards to this… again just makes one wonder
It is a good point. Why are people so upset about not having DAS for rides, or splitting up with their family for ride queue, but we don’t hear this same outrage over meet and greets.
Both lawsuits (or potential) have been in California correct? They have a lot more characters out in the California parks and I rarely see a particularly long line for them.
I would venture to say because many of these meet and greets never had DAS. Pete's circus never had DAS. Characters meeting out and about in the park don't have DAS. Anna and Elsa don't have DAS. The ones that did s(princesses, Mickey) - do still appear in the app for das choice, the process is just slightly different now to redeem.
Agreed. More generally, to merge Splash4eva's and DisneyHead123's questions: a lot of the discourse around DAS is affected by anchoring bias -- anything that has happened in the past is good and natural and right, anything less than that is an injustice, anything more than that is unnecessary.
