I assumed that last month's announcement of 2024 discounts, which seemed to be a month earlier than normal, was a trial balloon to see how bad things were.

This discount goes into Disney's 3Q2024 - it ends almost 8 months from now. Holy cow.
…oh what would YOU know? (I’m gonna annoy you with this…fair warning)

Bob is great…and Everyone loves his “magically experiency” things.

And there’s 10 people lined up waiting to take the place of every one person that goes…everyone knows

Clearly, Bob's strategy of "(significantly higher prices x fewer guests) + money we save not building rides = PROFIT" is working out.

I don't see a whole lot of savings in this. I have FL friends who have a child that falls in this age range. The parents still pay full price for the tix, room, and dining package for a 4 night "travel package" and the kid gets 50% off his ticket and dining plan. Whoopie.

They would be better off purchasing FL Weekday Magic tix (through December) or FR tix for the three of them, FR resort discount, and OOP for food.

And the rest of the world that doesn't live in Ronda Village doesn't have those ticket options.

Picking a random eligible 4 Night/5 Day Friday - Tuesday in April at a moderate resort, with base 5 day tickets and the standard dining plan: A family of 4 staying at Port Orleans booked with the Rack Rate Ticket and Room Package plus standard dining will pay approximately $6200 pre-tax. Using the discount package the price drops down to approximately $5600 pre-tax. An approximate $600 "savings".

No Standard Discounts have been announced yet.

Anyone booking should always remember that you may realize better savings by not paying the rack rate on hotels and also not utilizing the dining plan. For some families the dining plan may offer too much food, leading to unnecessary consumption to "get your money's worth" which means paying more than you would if you did not use the dining package.

Conversely the dining plan may NOT offer enough food or access to signature dining experiences, leading to additional spending beyond what is allocated.

Perhaps the best advice is to use a Travel Agent like @Kingdom Konsultant who can do all this work for you and let you know what the best option for your situation is. Also, if something better does come along, they can always modify your plans to take advantage of it. AND they don't charge a commission, so the cost to you is $0 for their services.
