Can't wait...it's such a wonderful pool!!!More sand is being added to the lazy river and connected pool. The hot tubs are mostly filled.

The current refurb was announced in March of last year.Back in November, we booked a stay at YC for June 22-25. We have never stayed there, but we always go to Beaches and Cream. The kids always rave about the pool, so the primary reason for booking there was the pool. We had no idea that the pool might be closed, and it doesn't look like it was scheduled to be closed at time of booking.
I got an email on 4/24 saying the pool will be unavailable for our stay. I'm pretty furious. There's no excuse for a pool to be closed in the summer.
Of course they weren't "obligated" to tell you.I see. I am trying to determine if DVC Rental Store disclosed this information to me or if they were obligated to.
I check in June 28 but have not received anything. Hoping for that that it gets back on track and opens for your trip.I got an email on 4/24 saying the pool will be unavailable for our stay. I'm pretty furious. There's no excuse for a pool to be closed in the summer.

While I can completely understand your disappointment with the pool being closed, there is a link at the top of both the Disney Yacht Club and Beach Club webpages explaining the ongoing and upcoming refurbishments. As with any largescale construction projects, there is always the possibility of delays. I am sure that nobody wants the pool closed through June including Disney. I never book anything (hotels, car rentals, flights, etc.) through third party booking sites as changes, refunds or addressing any problems can become difficult. I assume that since you appeared to have booked through DVC Rental Store, you will be staying at Beach Club and not Yacht Club since YC is not a DVC resort. Hopefully everything works out and you enjoy your trip. Perhaps the pool will open early, you never know!Back in November, we booked a stay at YC for June 22-25. Sorry that you're not able to swim at Stormalong Bay during your upcoming stay. There are three other pools there also Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools as well.Back in November, we booked a stay at YC for June 22-25. The original timeline was for the pool to be open this month but it appears that they ran into delays and/or unexpected issues.Yes, Beach Club not Yacht.
We are doign a split stay and moving over to the Poly after. I'm usually pretty good at doing homework before booking. I've changed our plans before due to attractions closures or resort construction. I never would have guessed a pool would be closed in late June. Oh well. I guess I'll leave no stone unturned from now on.
This DVC Rental Store?I see. I am trying to determine if DVC Rental Store disclosed this information to me or if they were obligated to.
You have a lot of experience refurbishing sand-bottomed pools of this size? They’re going as quickly as they can. It’s not good for the resort to have SAB closed.I mean, it’s patently ridiculous that this refurb is taking this long.
I mean it's not like they're building a new bar or lounge at WDW, these things take time. You have a lot of experience refurbishing sand-bottomed pools of this size? They’re going as quickly as they can. It’s not good for the resort to have SAB closed.
There’s no question that a project like this is costing them money on resort bookings.I mean it's not like they're building a new bar or lounge at WDW, these things take time.
I have 3 reservations for Yacht or Beach between May and September. I had a 4th which I canceled for July 4. Each time I looked, Yacht and Beach had wide open availability. I think they had to keep it clear of starting in Fall 2024 because it would have impacted Festival related bookings. I guess they made the calculation that F&W and the December one was more important reason to preserve amenities for guests. There’s no question that a project like this is costing them money on resort bookings.
My only surprise is that they didn’t start 11/1 of last year. It’s surprising to let it drift into summer but they aren’t purposely taking their time here.
From your personal experience refurbishing these type of pools, how long should it have taken?I mean, it’s patently ridiculous that this refurb is taking this long.
