But the free magnet?!
“A free magnet?!?! To hell with that new park. Bob and Josh, here you go!!”

But the free magnet?!
To be serious for a moment, I agree. This feels like something they didn’t expect to need to do and that is still being worked on due to… soft summer bookings? I know Hugh said in the November quarterly meeting they were “looking strong” but he seems like a guy with the backbone of a wet noodle. But the new discounts, the continuing discounts announced earlier in the year, plus this announcement really gives the vibe that they are getting desperate because summer at WDW is looking to be on the slow side. Maybe it ultimately won’t be, but I’m sure we’ll have posters here chime in that “it’s jam packed!!” “Busiest summer I’ve ever experienced”, et al. And then the quarterly numbers will be announced and they’ll talk about flat attendance. Why the continued rollout announcements without details....
So soft it could be legally classified as soft serve ice cream.soft summer bookings?
“Transition to liking annual passholders again”What does the playbook say to do when you can’t draw out of town business?
I agree. Especially with the kind of late announcement and then the lack of details for something only a few weeks away. It seems like there was a meeting where they decided they needed to do something to draw locals to boost numbers and at the end of the meeting they said "we're going to do V.I.P.assholder days now go figure it out" and they still haven't determined where to set up the lounge and things like that.To be serious for a moment, I agree. Remember when they didn't need us ? Now they are bending over backwards to give us things......sort of.....Universal opens soon....I'll bet the discounts keep on coming !!Wait…does this mean there’s nobody waiting in the virtual queue to buy a $1500 pass?!?
…oh, Bobby…
I agree that this is rather short notice for out-of-staters for such a beneficial and celebratory passholder event. I am, however, excited for my 1st AP event to happen so soon after joining! The only thing I'm side eying is going there for a *magnet* (that could just as easily be mailed out to us) and merch/food higher discount seems like a money pit. An excuse to go and spend more money as I'm chirping, "but it was 20% off!". Not impressed with the offerings yet, but flights are not too expensive. We will see.Disney has announced that limited-time V.I.PASSHOLDER Days are coming this June.
Here's what Disney has shared - more details will be announced soon.
- No, it’s not your imagination—a new Passholder magnet is coming! Check out the special sneak peek video and see if it sparks any guesses as to who will be featured.
- Passholders will have a limited-time, exclusive space to rest and cool off with dedicated seating (subject to availability).
- Passholders can enjoy increased discounts on select merchandise and dining locations across Walt Disney World Resort, including select EPCOT International Flower and Garden Outdoor Kitchens.
- New Passholder exclusive treats will be available for purchase.
- Passholders will also get a chance to capture memories of their latest park visit with two limited-time photo ops.
It's late April and I used a heap of gift cards and the Disney Rewards 10% off to buy my AP last week. I was surprised they were still offering them in late April. My first clue was when they haven’t stop selling them
The lounge is nice, I guess. The last time I walked in, it was a dead zone. Probably because its way in the back of Morocco and no one knows its there. Gee, thanks for the charging station, bottled water, and some snacks. Too bad its no longer a restaurant. This is the worst thing I have seen from Disney in a long time! Let's give you a discount on our worst-performing restaurants and give you a horrible lounge with the worst amenities, all the while making us still have to make park reservations.. I fail to see what is VIP about this!
Did you see any exclusive meet and greet characters in the lounge? I thought that Genie was in there last year? If not, lame. If we are AP, one would assume we already have water, snacks, and a portable charger on lock. Oh-the free snack last year was Chex Mix. *Hard side eyeThe lounge is nice, I guess. As for restaurants, some are pretty good. Boatwrights and Tusker House, for example. You need the 40% off at Tusker just to eliminate the character portion of the meal cost.
I honestly don't remember. I think the last time I was in there was for the Blue Cross Blue Shield F&W lounge. Whatever. No, you don't get 10% back/discount on AP purchases with the Disney Visa. They could mail out the magnets, but the goal is to incentivize people to come into the parks, where they'll inevitably spend more money.
The Disney Rewards Visa, I assume? Does it give you 10% back on AP purchases?
“…I’ll change…I promise! Let me get you some ice for that…”Is this the "No wait, please dont leave me!" stage of Disney's Epic breakdown?
That’s the one thing I see that’s actually solidThey aren’t even running the lounge for the entire interval? Lame. 40% off at Tiffins is tempting
Well. Tusker from $64 to $38.40 for a character meal isn't too bad either. That’s the one thing I see that’s actually solid
