After Vegas incident I read that cast go in rooms to check up on guests.Problem is there are people who keep the signs up continuously for a week or more to keep housekeepers out.

Many hotels do not have them (anymore). I'm not sure why.Hence why do not disturb or room occupied signs exist.
I so miss this perk of staying at a resort! I rather have this back than housekeeping, honestly (for me, personally).Side note: Has there been any word on when delivery of items purchased in the parks to your resort will return? It restarted in DL last year, but WDW's website says it's still unavailable.
Which resort were you at?On a 14 day trip the promised every other day didn't happen, the room was barely touched, the floor was never swept or vacuumed and the bedding changed once on the 4th day, but, not again.
Not being mean to the mousekeeping, but, I doubt it will ever return to the standard it was at one time. And I pulled this out of my sink plug hole on day three when it wouldn't drain. I did complain and was given vouchers for two free QS meals, but, I would rather have had a clean sink.

Beware that only deluxe resorts have daily housekeeping. This is great news! I always appreciated coming back to a freshly cleaned room after a long day at the parks. It makes the whole experience feel more like a vacation again.

Moderates and values are every-other-day.
That remains unchanged. You get trash and towel service on Day 4, and if your stay is 8 nights or longer you get full cleaning on Day 4 and trash and towel service on Day 8.Hey Tu,
random question. how does the housekeeping work at DVC rooms now do you know?
sorry for being Lazy. you are the guru
As someone with a child still in diapers, I’m curious about what to do if trash isn’t emptied for 4 days. Is there somewhere we can put it? Leave it outside the door?Sometimes they will empty the trash (as a courtesy), sometimes not.
We have tied up the bag and dropped it in one of the big outdoor cans which are near the exterior doors. As someone with a child still in diapers, I’m curious about what to do if trash isn’t emptied for 4 days. Is there somewhere we can put it? Leave it outside the door?

If it's a DVC Points reservation, housekeeping is as @Tuvalu noted. If it's a cash reservation direct from Disney (or through a TA), housekeeping is supposed to be daily. That remains unchanged. You room will have a daily security check. Sometimes they will empty the trash (as a courtesy), sometimes not.
There are also dedicated rooms with bins and recycling at DVC resorts. We have tied up the bag and dropped it in one of the big outdoor cans which are near the exterior doors.
