Before someone tries to be hip by claiming my list is wrong by no Velocicoaster, no Incredible Hulk Coaster, and no Rock'n roller coaster, those people need to know that I am not a big launch coaster/ upside down coaster person at all. My body had issues with going backwards on Everest the last time I went on it.

Revenge of the Mummy was closed on the only trip I went to Universal. I don't do virtual queues, Genie+ and Individual Lightning lane at WDW. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind was a no go for me.

Before someone mentions Soarin's around the world to me, that attraction is worse than the original Soarin' in my view.

That is the thing about a personal favorites list... It's personal, opinionated, and everyone has their own reasons. :)

3. Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
4. Haunted Mansion
5. Splash Mountain
6. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
7. Kilimanjaro Safaris
8. Spaceship Earth (pre-2008 versions would have been much higher on the list)
9. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
10. Jurassic Park River Adventure
11. Flight of Passage
12. Dinosaur
13. Soarin'
14. Na'vi River Journey
15. It's A Small World

20. Pirates of the Caribbean (this is so low because I can't help comparing it against all the other, vastly superior, versions; if those didn't exist, this would probably be at least a little bit higher)

*I haven't yet been on Gringotts, Velocicoaster, Cosmic Rewind, Hagrid's, or Runaway Railway, so those are excluded.

The point isn't whether you agree. The point is, if we are listing "favorites", there is nothing to discuss. No reasons need to be given. You like what you like, I like what I like, etc. That's the only criteria and by definition it is not up for debate.
Who said I was looking for a debate? I'm just curious to see where peoples favorites like on this site. Not everything has to be a debate. In fact, this debate in and of itself right here doesn't have to happen. It's a favorites list thread.

You're more than welcome to start a debate thread if you please. No one's stopping you.

I agree that for many, there is no difference. In part because they cannot separate what they personally like from more objective criteria. It's why fans of Adam Sandler's comedies lament them not winning Oscars.

But if that's not a concept one can wrap one's head around, then yes, there will not be any differentiation.

I think you're the one missing it here -- there is very little objective criteria when it comes to a theme park ride.

I'm actually curious what possible objective criteria you think can apply to a comparison between, say, Pirates of the Caribbean and Velocicoaster.

To be honest, there's very little objective criteria for movies either. Movies don't win Oscars because of objective criteria, for the most part.
