I would think they will be resplicing but from the videos it looks like a day or two to do thatAny idea if they're going to trim the rope? That would be quite a sight to see...
“Refurbishment” is a term which can be used pretty widely. Every physical system used around the resort needs TLC, it shouldn’t be difficult to see why this one does as well.Wow the Skyliner is 4 years old and needs refurbishment.
Ropes stretch, bearings wear, motors get full of dust bunnies, and that doesn't even begin to address what guests do in the cabins...Wow the Skyliner is 4 years old and needs refurbishment.
Use some common sense. Just like any form of transportation, parts wear. More so at a place like DW that has millions of guests a year and ppl constantly getting on and off. Of course they need to be touched up and parts replaced.Wow the Skyliner is 4 years old and needs refurbishment.
Wouldn't mind if this refurb was pushed back a week or two.Disney Skyliner closing for annual refurbishment in early 2023

Annual. Gosh, for that type of transportation system, I certainly hope so.Wow the Skyliner is 4 years old and needs refurbishment.
I don't know the configuration of the service car but I would think they are doing tower maintenanceIt's been neat to watch. The last couple of days they've removed all the gondolas from the Caribbean /Riviera /Epcot line. Definitely look like they were replacing portions of the main haul rope, possibly the entire rope has it now looks black versus the gray that it used to be.
They put the gondola's back on the Caribbean Riviera Epcot line today, including at least one very drab utility gondola with two construction workers sitting it very hard hats.
