Moonlight Magic Returns for 2022!

I now understand your reasoning for posting the link, and completely agree with it. I did not realize that members that should have received the email did not receive it, and others that shouldn't have did receive it. Everyone that is eligible should be given the chance to participate.
I think I've just been a member too long so I know how it works. I understand what your worry was. Fortunately cheaters cannot get through and also sadly sometimes eligible people cannot.

1.5 hours until they open the queue. I'll see if I can swing a Swalphin stay if I get in. I have a reservation on the 17th but supposed to fly home that night. We could change that ;)

We've been members for 15 years, but we also receive all of the emails. Maybe because we have used the same email account since day 1? It is sad that Disney can't seem to get it right with their email system sending to everyone eligible regardless of location, and only to the correct people.

My original email stopped working about 7 years in. So in order to get the emails again I had to swap. Cannot be that since unknowingly why my emails didn't work. I got my spouse an account too so I get them on that email too. AP emails I still sometimes have issues with. It's annoying tbh.

My DW received the email as well, since she is co-owner. Hmm, I do think we've had a few issues with AP emails as well. It's very annoying!

Knock on wood spouse's email doesn't seem to miss a beat. I hope it stays that way. It's actually my email too I set up just for his account, so I'm still all in control 😆

You are welcome. It really did confuse a lot of people today. I thought my spouse got one because he's tied to our contract which has a reservation on the 17th, but he's not going. So I am now thinking it was just sent as a mistake.

Of course I have friends who do have reservations and didn't get the e-mail so go figure LOL
I just realized that we have reservations at the Disney resort in Hilton head which lines up with the Epcot date so maybe that’s where the confusion was

So to update on this. It took me 26 minutes to go from 2694 to getting in. I needed my member ID. It knew to do the 17th. Then I provided a phone number and e-mail. How many in my party. Then checked like a dozen boxes it felt like agreeing to terms and what to do with minors etc. Got in and have my confirmation.

Now for the fun of seeing if I can add on that night. If not, I promise I'll cancel.

Friend did a test run. No go on getting in, so that part works too

Wow! We started at 2655 and had no problems. Being AP holders, we'll probably go there earlier and have some dinner at the food booths.

It's possible they forgot to filter out HHI. They specifically list Vero Beach as eligible which is driveable (roughly 2 hours each way).

Looks like both the Swan and Dolphin have availability, but it isn't cheap.

Y’know what’s so dumb about Disney’s email system? They weren’t even allowing internationals like me to sign up for Galactic Starcruiser update emails, despite the fact I’m a DVC member with an AP who is literally going to the thing. It’s unbelievable how much of a blind spot this supposedly global company has when it comes to customers outside of America.

In other news… sure enough… we appear to have missed out on this one opportunity to enjoy Moonlight Magic. Pretty filthy about it too. With a long delayed trip halfway around the world to finally take our family to WDW again, staying three weeks at Deluxe resorts… you’d think Disney could fling us an email. 😤

I don’t suppose anyone knows whether tomorrow’s general reservations will actually go ahead, do they? As in… do those early reservations (that I didn’t get an email for) consist of every possible ticket or are more held off for the second round? We’re still pretty infuriated because our concerns about not getting a chance to register were largely disregarded and we were told our only other chance was to try again on March 8. There was a principle at stake, so we insisted on more answers about why we didn’t get the email in the first place and we were told a supervisor would get back to us. Two weeks later… nothing, despite two follow up attempts. So, it seems our last hope of taking advantage of this rare opportunity is to get up before 2am our time. I just wonder if there’s any point. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I hope you get lucky.

I know it doesn’t help you this time but for others who don’t realise this, you don’t need to have got the email to register. If you keep an eye on the forum and someone posts info you can register through the DVC site even without an email.

Yeah, now we know. Thanks to finding this forum mere hours before the 2am reservation opening, we did discover the link but it all happened so quick. We assumed the email would have reminded us and also had zero clue of what to expect in terms of demand, so we didn’t stay awake. We just tried first thing in the morning when it was too late. That’s when we started hearing horror stories of other international guests who’d been ignored and the smoke began billowing out of our ears. What sucks the most is that we only get to Walt Disney World maybe once every 18-24mths when the world is normal, much less when it’s not. But thanks to two years of COVID cancellations and the fact we were raising a kid since 2016, next month is our first visit since 2015! We already lost most of the first few years of our DVC membership and the chance to attend Moonlight Magic is so much more rare for us. And it just stinks that we missed out because of such thoughtlessness on Disney’s part. I’m not one to back down on principles though, so they’ll definitely be hearing about it when we’re on shared soil in a few weeks.

I feel your pain. ☹️ I never get emails either, but in 11 years we’ve never had a trip planned during a MM event.

Curious if there is any conflict with the whole "ND" DVC Magic mobile kerfuffle in which non-direct resale buyers grandfathered in before 2016 were incorrectly denied DVC "Blue Card" member benefits.

Yeah… no surprise… was on 20 minutes early last go on the 23rd and missed out on the 17th and 25 minutes early this time and ready/waiting and missed out on both… 🤷‍♂️

It was our last chance to try to attend a Moonlight event as we are in process of selling our contract due to some other things going on in life.

Suppose if it was meant to be, it would’ve come through.

Sorry to hear that. I forget how the Moonlight Magic reservations work. Is there a waitlist for people who missed out? If so, maybe you'll get lucky and be able to get in if others have to change their plans and cancel.
