No, the rumor was likely leaked by Disney to gauge how people felt, they got enough feedback telling them they better not take it away.The rumor was based on no availability after a particular date on the calendar the public can see. A media outlet contacted WDW, and there IS continuous availability on the internal calendar, which indicates a glitch.

Was there a guy running around with a plastic prop axe?I wanted to go there last week, but that half of the Island was closed.

I was there last September and that half was closed then too and they didn’t tell us till we got to the island. Wouldn’t of gotten on the raft if they had said something first.I wanted to go there last week, but that half of the Island was closed.

cracks me up. after all the discussion about this old-time fave going away, The Mouse squashes the debate and carries on. wish they had done the same with the Adventurers Club. 
Just gotta accept the fact that times change and stay positive.
