News Disney Park Pass System announced for Walt Disney World theme park reservations

Here you go. Unless you're a local, they're useless. Anyone else making an advance trip needs to make reservations because there is no knowing ahead of time what days will be "Good to go." You're welcome.
They’re useless if you’re a local as well because “Good to go” days were never going to sell out in the first place. The only days that ever sell out for any park reservations anymore are Christmas/thanksgiving.

Holiday weekends can sometimes have MK or DHS 'sell out' of reservations, as well as big events like the opening of a new ride.

As anyone without a pass streams through to get to perhaps 50% capacity…

They’re a silly stunt at this point

What they really should limit is vloggers…they are not of any use to the park experience

Have those passes on a pitch count 🤪

EPCOT and DAK are both at capacity for annual passholders today

I doubt you’ll find anyone here who thinks they’re necessary.
The reservation system is my favorite thing about visiting Walt Disney World. Getting to go online and click through all sorts of fun screens and make a reservation to visit Animal Kingdom is as fun, if not more fun, than some of my favorite rides. Plus, it ensures I'll be able to get in and see my favorite attraction, the Zootopia show, without having to worry about Animal Kingdom hitting capacity. Good to Go days are great and all, but I think it's kinda risky to not have a reservation.

Plus, another favorite part is that even after five years, you still get to go from the app to the website to make the reservation!

Non DVC member Incredipass holder here. Please explain to me why I have to make a park reservation when staying at a disney resort using my annual pass. I am on property at a disney hotel same as a date based ticket holder; so why the discrepancy in park ressie requirements between us?
Not a defense on the current reservation system however it should be no need that staying at a Disney Resort does not guarantee You admission into the parks any more.

The date-based ticket holder isn't getting admission because they are staying at a resort, they're getting admission because they bought date-based tickets with their Resort stay.
