Not really surprising. I’ve been there for Labor Day weekend in the past and it’s one of the least crowded holiday weekends.
Correct. Travel habits have changed! So many folks learned NOT to go on Labor Day weekend, its no longer crowded.

Same has happened other previously crowded times of the year; folks learned NOT to go during these time and now they are no longer crowded.

Labor Day was never crowded. It’s the last weekend before school starts for half the country, and the third weekend after school starts for the other half. Parents with school-aged children aren’t going that weekend.

I keep getting told I do not need a park reservation and if that is the case then why does my page look like this?

Not correct at all. And it would be at a minimum a big local weekend.

Because people don’t want to admit things are on the decline…doesn’t make it the slightest bit false

From @Lentesta’s touringplans historical crowd level data for Labor Day:

2025: Crowd Level 2
2024: Crowd Level 3
2023: Crowd Level 2
2022: Crowd Level 3
2021: Crowd Level 2
2020: Crowd Level 2
2019: Crowd Level 1
2018: Crowd Level 2
2017: Crowd Level 6
2016: Crowd Level 5
2015: Crowd Level 4
2014: Crowd Level 2
2013: Crowd Level 2
2012: Crowd Level 2
2011: Crowd Level 1
2010: Crowd Level 1

That’s as far back as TP historical data goes.

Doesn’t exactly look like a busy weekend to me…. Other than I suppose whatever was going on in 2016 & 2017.

Got anything from prior to Bobby I? When they decided to make entry a “barrier” with huge price increases over and over again?

What a bold strategy

TP data doesnt seem to go back beyond 2010. @lentesta, do you have older data or is 2010 when you started collecting?

It does make sense though that that’s just not a busy weekend. People with school-aged children aren’t generally taking their kids out of school to go to Disney World the first or third week of school. This is probably why September in general is the slowest month of the year.

There are some notable gaps in the method

Having JUST been in nearly vacated parks that still showed the “standard” wait times on the headliners…there is a disconnect

Attendance is way down. That’s not a “financial” stat…they can say anything they damn want

Now they are making massive amounts of free money on line skips and partial day tickets..:as len points out…for sure

But they are robbing Peter to pay Paul a bit

Empty gift shops and food locations cut alot out of the gross takeaway

Any significant economical disruption beyond their control WITHOUT Uncle Sam
giving away $7 trillion ain’t gonna play well

For anyone who doesn't know or has forgotten, the Touring Plans Crowd Levels reflect the stand-by wait times for headliner rides between 10am and 4pm (I think that’s the timeframe they measure).

That doesn’t necessarily match to numbers of visitors in the park.

So using their Crowd Levels to determine how busy the parks are don’t tell the whole story.

Which reminds me of how Josh from EasyWDW would talk about “feels crowded” even if wait times were low, or vice versa (RIP Josh 💔).

Keep in mind that Labor Day is the travel day and for many school starts the next day. The busier time (as it was this year because I've saw it first hand) was Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

This Labor Day was a good to go day too, (as has been most of this week) for AP Holders.

2010 is when we were systematically collecting data, yeah.

We have single-day data going back to the late 90's, but not easily accessible.

…especially since Disney parks are not “ride parks”…

They aren’t designed to be and that’s not their fundamental draw.

The other thing to consider is that LL may be pushing people to be in line more…resisting the upsells on high base tickets to extract “value”.

From my own observations…the attitudes seems to have shifted some away from fast pass mentality for 25 years into more casual “this 1-2 hour block is for guardians”…

That’s bad as well…as fast pass was to get you out of lines to spend. Which dilutes the effectiveness if it’s reversing
