Labor Day![]()
Not really surprising. I’ve been there for Labor Day weekend in the past and it’s one of the least crowded holiday weekends. That is strange.
Correct. Travel habits have changed! So many folks learned NOT to go on Labor Day weekend, its no longer crowded. Not really surprising. I’ve been there for Labor Day weekend in the past and it’s one of the least crowded holiday weekends.
Labor Day was never crowded. It’s the last weekend before school starts for half the country, and the third weekend after school starts for the other half. Parents with school-aged children aren’t going that weekend.Correct. Travel habits have changed! So many folks learned NOT to go on Labor Day weekend, its no longer crowded.
Same has happened other previously crowded times of the year; folks learned NOT to go during these time and now they are no longer crowded.
Go try to make one and it won’t let you when they have taken the days offI keep getting told I do not need a park reservation and if that is the case then why does my page look like this? View attachment 880936
Not correct at all. And it would be at a minimum a big local weekend.Labor Day was never crowded. It’s the last weekend before school starts for half the country, and the third weekend after school starts for the other half. Parents with school-aged children aren’t going that weekend.
From @Lentesta’s touringplans historical crowd level data for Labor Day:Not correct at all. And it would be at a minimum a big local weekend.
Because people don’t want to admit things are on the decline…doesn’t make it the slightest bit false
Got anything from prior to Bobby I? When they decided to make entry a “barrier” with huge price increases over and over again? From @Lentesta’s touringplans historical crowd level data for Labor Day:

Doesn’t exactly look like a busy weekend to me…. Other than I suppose whatever was going on in 2016 & 2017.
TP data doesnt seem to go back beyond 2010. @lentesta, do you have older data or is 2010 when you started collecting?Got anything from prior to Bobby I? When they decided to make entry a “barrier” with huge price increases over and over again?
There are some notable gaps in the methodTP data doesnt seem to go back beyond 2010. @lentesta, do you have older data or is 2010 when you started collecting?
It does make sense though that that’s just not a busy weekend. People with school-aged children aren’t generally taking their kids out of school to go to Disney World the first or third week of school. This is probably why September in general is the slowest month of the year.
Keep in mind that Labor Day is the travel day and for many school starts the next day. The busier time (as it was this year because I've saw it first hand) was Friday, Saturday and Sunday. From @Lentesta’s touringplans historical crowd level data for Labor Day:

…especially since Disney parks are not “ride parks”…For anyone who doesn't know or has forgotten, the Touring Plans Crowd Levels reflect the stand-by wait times for headliner rides between 10am and 4pm (I think that’s the timeframe they measure).
That doesn’t necessarily match to numbers of visitors in the park.
So using their Crowd Levels to determine how busy the parks are don’t tell the whole story.
Which reminds me of how Josh from EasyWDW would talk about “feels busy” even if wait times were low, or vice versa (RIP Josh).
