I would like to hear opinions on the event from previous years. We have never taken our kids to the waterparks, because we pay a lot of money to stay at a hotel with a nice pool. But this time, my son asked for a day in the waterparks. We are traveling as a tribe - 7 adults and kids ages 17, 13, 11, 10 and 6.

We haven’t been to the event but my wife and I love Typhoon Lagoon. Now, I don’t know that the value would be there for seven people I’d you’re staying at one of the deluxe hotels with a more robust pools. Which hotel do you stay at?

I went the last 2 years and had a blast both times. The lines for slides are not too long, and the wave pool isn't crowded. We spent most of out time doing activities. It is neat being there at night. You get a glow stick/wristband. They have a DJ and do games up front. If you want to meet some characters you can. The food didn't seem all that special to me, the drinks are expensive as they are anywhere on property.

It is only 3 hours, but last year you could get in starting at 6, I assume it is the same again this year. If a storm comes through, you can't go in the water. Happened to us the first year, we missed over an hour because of lightning. CM we talked to said they probably wouldn't refund anyone if we never got in since the dace party, games, and M&G were still going on. Price is up again this year with nothing added it seems. But if you wait to purchase the day of, prices are even more.

I think it is worth it though, even if the party is about the same as a regular day ticket.

We are staying at Kidani this trip, and waitlisted for Jambo House.

Kidani and Jambo both have really nice pool complexes for sure. The water parks are a lot of fun, but I would imagine the pool at those resorts would be almost just as nice.
