Kali River Rapids refurbishment planned for early 2020
A 10 week closure is planned for Animal Kingdom's river raft ride.
Wish they would restore the de-forest scene to its opening day look. That scene is really chilling when everything was working.

Rode it half a dozen times last week; one day three times in a row (without getting off in between).
Definitely a shame that the deforestation scene has diminished so much. Another thing I noticed is that they no longer have the single, large "dry bag" in the center of ANY of the rafts.

They got rid of those about 3 years ago or so. Not sure why. I always used it and it kept everything nice and dry. Sure is aggravating without having them.

Whats the over/under on them being able to triple the ride length and make it worth the summer wait in that time?

There will be no major changes to the ride. This is just the annual winter refurbishment.

Enough of a downpour and some controlled rocking of the raft and I could get that baby in the Discovery River for some evasive maneuvers around enormous lotus blossoms!

Common refurb time as it's always closed when I get out there....But, since I'm also going to Universal at least Bilge Rat Barges will be open...

10 weeks? Is that a relatively normal amount of time? I have never been on them. Not a fan of walking around squishy.

Exactly the same as 2019's refurb. 2018's was about a month shorter.

Yup. Betting it is ride function and safety stuff. Slap on some paint and refresh things then back open again. In other words standard operating procedure.here is the refurb history for Kali
