Jokes are never funny when you explain them but... this one might not have been [funny], anyway.
I was comparing current management to a selfish person in a relationship who wants the other one but not bad enough to commit. In this case, related to how they first canned this show but then decided to bring it back but only for the brief purpose of the holiday because, you know... they... don't want to put a ring on it.
