I know everyone wants a winky face emoji to show that Coco is coming to Epcot but I have something to share. So as a massive Kingdom Hearts fan I follow Tasha S, she’s on the theme park devision of Pixar and also worked on the game. She posted that she was on the resort loop podcast. I as any theme park fan wanted to know what two Pixar employees in the division offered up and this could mean nothing but...when asked “What movies or charcters in the park do you want to see in the park that aren’t there yet?”. They specifically mention Coco so maybe...something is in the pipeline? I personally want Poppins over Coco but that’s besides the point. Didn’t want to make a separate thread on this to drive people crazy.

Again it’s probably nothing, but I found it interesting nevertheless

Well, they could be reference the Mariachi Cobre - Coco thing. But it's nice to know that Pixar-in-the-theme-park Division wants more Coco.

Mariachi Cobre are so good at their craft! This doesn't feel too overly produced or overly over the top or overly cartoonie... it feels very organic... very natural... very authentic... I like this a lot!

Having seen the DCA and Epcot versions now. I Can see that there is some differences to the shows from either side as the DCA version had more skeleton puppets and Miguel sings in that version to where he just appears at the end of the show..Here's the DCA version to see that comparison..

Thankfully, was terrified this would somehow diminish the amazing Mariachi Cobre. They have put the time and effort into their craft for so long, that it would be terrible if they were overshadowed by animated IP.

They are really excellent and I'm also glad that they're both still doing their own sets and are really the focus of this show. I think they've done a fantastic job, and it shows that IP thoughtfully integrated into WS can work quite well. Coco is kind of a unique case, though!

Everyone is entitled to their own musical opinion, but the man did win an Oscar for Up (and a Grammy for Up and Ratatouille) so at least some people found it more than "okay". He also was picked as the first composer outside of John Williams to score a Star Wars movie, when Disney could have probably picked just about any composer out there.
I did hear Van Halen was busy

Does anyone have a reason there hasn’t been a Miguel face character instead of just a puppet?
Same reason why they don't do it for the Nemo characters...It looks weird...Have you seen the Nemo go kart? It's.......Something?

Because in DL, they also have dancing skeleton puppets. It's kinda hard to have humans with their vital organs intact play skeletons. So, they went with puppets.

The Miguel in Epcot is a clone of DL's. I would have like to also have the skeleton dancers, but, Mariachi Cobre, I presume, is soaking up most of the budget for this streetmosphere.
