Well.. I've been occasionally bringing up Comcast's financial constraints, so, I'm not surprised. Put on top of that the current and likely, worsening, world financial milieu... this won't be the first company holding back and nursing their bank account large debt portfolio.

Its themed entertainment wide. Shift in culture against Entertainment again. Merlin, Disney and Uni all had entertainment setbacks recently.

This was not so much financially focused from parent company. It was more local execs felt people would be rushing from Portal to Portal, but this is corporately misplaced judgment as they are going by Team Member Previews. And a crowded day where people are in a hub multiple times a day will play very differently.

They did not rehearse this for ten weeks and were set to perform it due to Portfolio issues.

But if you want the pat on the back that you noticed...good for you!

The main cut for those wondering, was a character of traveling musicians who bring their stories and music from the various worlds they have visited.

Oh, I didn't know you were in dialogues with local execs. So, yeah, it must be that they thought guests wouldn't appreciate streetmosphere with so much other shiny new stuff around them.

Tho, I wonder, for established parks without the shiny new stuff... they're cutting back entertainment there, too. Funny how the reason given doesn't really apply to all parks, tho, the claim is that it does.

That's life!

Not so much dialogues as friends in show direction for it. Yes. Everything takes money and live ent operations is always the first thing cut. It is the theme park way.
Even when things are strong things that they don't think are worth it get cut.

as much as it's impressive to see, I feel like it will somehow affect the ride experience when some AA are not working as intended.

yes, profoundly affect one’s ride.

from a park goer perspective I would expect the main point of the ride is to see advanced, next level life like AA’s.

If those figures go static mode on us( for long periods)then the ride will be ridiculed far worse than Yeti. Universal needs those figures operating properly far more than Disney needs a swiping Yeti.

But I’m pretty sure universal will not allow their prized figures to remain static if and when they do go down.

Are there any particular rides where the animatronics got more reliable over time? I can’t think of any off the type of my head. Maybe Tiana and Monsters are cursed.

Rides in technical rehearsal aren't working properly? They're cursed! Cursed, I tell you!

Not mine... but spoilers for the park in this video

Not theirs either. They just stole that other guy's footage and re-edited it.

From someone I follow on IG. They also perform at Nemo & as Belle in BATB at Hollywood Studios.

This is just sad to see. They were still doing dress rehearsals as of a couple weeks ago, so these entertainment cuts were very last minute and sudden seems like..

Obviously with technical rehearsals, there are going to be bumps. Looking into the future, I think this park will be a haven for locals. Definitely a post-work drink and dinner moment. Interactivity and gamification in SNW and MoM. Variety in offerings. And lovely background music in every land.

Also spoke with a colleague who circles live entertainment and the sudden cut of Celestial performers was a shock. I think most other performers are safe (although if I had to guess, the Auror in ⚯͛ is such a deep cut for lore appreciators that they may be next).

I do think it's shortsighted, knowing that Celestial Park is going to need to also entertain people beyond retail, food, and drink—especially if lands are closed off due to capacity limited as anticipated. But asking folks to stand in the uncovered sun on concrete while watching a show was also just a misstep from the beginning.

Finally, Team Members and their families aren't a great barometer check on live entertainment. These are fans of the brand who will likely be blocked out for the first 6 months to a year...of course they are going to run to the portals, rides, and stage show offerings.

Most of it looks nice, if a bit bland/understated (although that kind of fits with the exterior, which isn't very impressive) but I am surprised by the King and Presidential Suites.

They both look pretty bad -- the layout of that king suite with the narrow little TV nook looks awful and the Presidential suite doesn't look remotely on the level of what you'd generally expect from a Presidential suite.

This. This this this. All of this.

It's like people complaining about how their food tastes while it's still being plated.

For sure. This will be Universal's answer to Epcot for the after work crowd. Additionally, I think that the surface lot is easier than the parking garages at the North Campus as far as getting in and out of the park.
