News Typhoon Lagoon nighttime ticketed event begins this summer

It sounds kind of cool, but the Toy Story characters seem out of place. I'm assuming that's related to the Toy Story area opening this summer, but characters like Lilo and Stitch or Moana would be much better suited if they have to tie IPs in. They already do after-hours events at Typhoon and include some pretty cool stuff, though I've only seen them through photos from my event planner friends on facebook. There's definitely some potential there, but the price is a bit steep for my tastes.

I miss the Beach Bash they used to have in the 1990s. I think it was held on Friday nights? Maybe more frequently... DJ with fun dance music and beach games, and the park stayed open late - all just part of the normal operating day. Just low key family fun that fit the tropical vibe. I think I still have my button that I won during a tug of war contest.

This actually sounds pretty cool as a night owl who easily sunburns, I agree however that the price is steep for three hours. Last time I tried to get there by bus it took so long, now that you have to transfer at DS instead of it taking you directly there. Just logistically it's going to be hard to maximize your time unless you arrive by car, or they allow early entry like at MNSSHP.

Agreed Toy Story seem so out of place. Getting tired of these up-charge experiences.. Would be great to extend the day for more guests and get a second wave of guests to come mid day into evening.

DH and I are considering the Aug 2 party for our July 30-Aug 4 trip. We're out-of-state passholders (aside: come on, Disney, you couldn't have discounted this by more than $6 for passholders?!?) but have somehow never found the time to get to TL so I'm making it a priority for August.

But should we do Glow Nights, or just go during the day? Is there anything special about the park during the day that we would miss out on by doing Glow Nights? I don't think we'd spend more than 3-4 hours at TL regardless, so I'm not really fussed about the value for money difference between the party and a regular day. What intrigues me about Glow Nights is the potential for reduced wait times and a unique atmosphere. Early reviews seem to indicate that wait times are indeed minimal, but the atmosphere is also pretty minimal outside of some blacklights and inflatables.

Anyone who has experienced Glow Nights and "regular" TL care to chime in?
