I just do not understand the person who would go to Disney World, decide to spend huge amounts of money to stay at a Disney hotel, and then… choose this one. Do you just hope the kids don’t notice any of the more interesting hotels? Is this just for brand loyalists who don’t like Disney that much?
You should hold off judgment until the giant fiberglass characters are added.

I imagine Tiana’s place will help.

As someone who has been taking our kids since they were a year old to late teens, the majority of the time they really don’t care all that much about which hotel they stay in. As long as there is a pool - preferably with a slide.

The pool complex sounds like it might be one of the strongest on property and it’s MK area without the monorail premium (presumably).

I guess I’d understand the argument if it just felt like a worse Wilderness Lodge in all respects.

I think you are very off the pulse on this one, especially if you are defining the critics as the kids. Kids love pools.

I think the people that know all the unique and fun things that happen at Fort Wilderness will love this resort. It has many selling features: If they make it themed and beautiful, give it a lazy river and extensive pools, the decorations and activities of the campground, and a boat to magic kingdom. Of course it all depends on the quality of what they deliver and if they don’t ruin the campground in the process. If they do it right I think it will become very popular. I notice that some people do get very judgmental about the campground without ever giving it a chance or experiencing what it has to offer. That’s a shame because it’s like nowhere else in the world.

Pool looks great . But think about almost 1400 rooms having access between the Lodge and cabins. Scary crowds.

It’s 1300 and by Disney standards that’s not that unusual. That’s a couple hundred less than have access to Stormalong Bay. And nowhere near as many as have access to pools at many of the moderates and values.
But the values like Pop have 3 pools. This mix of rooms are larger with more guests per room. Every cabin at the fort is a 2 bedroom. Then the Lodge mix of cabins and 1 , 2 bedroom dvc rooms. The lazy river will be a large draw. It will be easily as mobbed as stormalong bay or worse.

Again, we don't know if Fort Wilderness or DVC cabin guests will be allowed into this pool area.

We don’t yet know for sure that the Lakeside Lodge pool will be available to fort cabin guests. But between the Fort and Lakeside Lodge there will be 4 pools.
