8/9 to 8/16 report

Well after a interesting week at WDW here is a breif summery of the trip. Overall it was agood trip how can anyone ever have a bad trip to WDW.

*IT WAS HOT HOT HOT, every day all day, we were at MGM and it rained mid day for about 30 mins to an hour and then it was cloudy all day which kept the temps nice a cool, other then that it was sunny hot and humid.

*Crowds were very mixed, MK was busy everytime we went, we went to MK 3 different times on 3 different days, and it seemed so busy. Peter Pan, Small world, Splash mountian, and Space Mountian, were averaging 50-60 min waits. All the other parks the longest wait was 20 mins. Hit Soarin first thing in the morning there will be no wait by mid afternoon wait time was about 70-80 mins.

* I went with friends, I was their "tour guide" plus I was visting friends that I have down there. Any the party consisted of two kids 12 and 14 the 12 year old was a royal pain, but now misses the trip and the 14 year old was so excited to be down there. The heat didn't help the 12 year olds mood.

*Stayed at the Poly, now I can't stay anyplace else, such a nice resort, maybe the GF but I can't stay anyplace else, they just won't be as nice.

*Stood on entrance line with Joe Pantalioni(Ralphie on Soprano's), Nice guy talked to him for a few moments and shook his hand, didn't want to make a scene since he was going at the parks without a VIP tour guide.

Now some of the negatives,
Bus transportation must have been cut BIG time, we were always waiting for buses, it took from the time we got to the Downtown stop back to the resort almost 45 mins. we waited almost 30 mins for a bus. I don't know what they are doing but its such a pain these days.

The new key cards are BAD they are having major problems with the cards getting demagnatized, we had the get new cards 4 times.

A lot of parks just look dirty these days, It seems they aren't being cleaned as well at night. And a lot of rides are not at 100%. Animontronics are not working on some things, audio systems were messy and un clean sounding. Being a former CM and being a big fan it makes me sad that things are not being maintained like they used to. The average guest probally won't notice but us die-hard fans will. ALso the monorail narrations were always messed up, and 6 out of the 8 days there was no "Please Stand CLear of the Doors...." which is always a highlight of a Disney Trip.

Semes to be less charecter greeting variety, Chip and Dale were every where and we had such a hard time finding Donald Duck.

The new Biometrics STINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The lines to get into parks are long and they never have enough lines open to handle the crowds, thoruhg on top the fact that people have NO clue what to do with the machines, they got to just push the button and let people in that are clueless.

Like I said overall I had a good time, Its DISNEY how can you not have fun and I can't wait to go back, probally after Everast opens, since the ride just looks AMAZING

I was thinking of some other things last night after I wrote this, all very good things, heres like a top ten or how ever many it comes out to be:

*Mission Space AWSOME
*Soarin Awsome, try not to get row 3 the bottom row seeing the screen kinda kills the effect.
*Sleepy Hallow Refreshments have fresh homemade Chocolate Chip cookie Ice Cream sandwhiches, which are to die for, and the ice cream just in a cup is awsome as well.
* Eat at the castle the food is great, the meat just melts in your mouth.
*Mickey's Philharmagic is still my favorite 3D movie
*Small World was rehabed great.
*Goofy Candy Company has some really great stuff and making somthing is awesome.
*Lights Motor Action is a great show, best stunt show I've seen not only at WDW but any theme park stunt show.
*DME worked out really well. I hope Southwest becomes an airline wiht them so I can check-in at the resort.
*WDW chicken strips are still the best chicken strips in the WORLD

Yes!! We always get the Sleepy Hollow ice Cream Sandwiches-they are the BEST! And we made cups at the Goofy Candy Company. While they were pricey, it was a very cool souvenir-my DD has already used it with her lunch a ton of times.

We were there from 8/8-8/12-so we overlapped days! Donald was in the Character Tent on the 10th and we only stumbled on him-he was not "advertised" on the boards out front. Only Minnie, Pluto and Goofy were. But you are right on the character greetings-I think I saw King Louie and Balou 3 times!

I think we lucked out after listening to other people's reports-we didn't find the parks too too crowded. We also split up our days every day-except the 10th-and I think we just missed the big crowds. We were able to walk on Small World twice on the 10th as well as all the other rides we wanted to do and were "done"(meaning we saw everything we planned to) by 6 that same day (after getting to the park at 10). I thank my lucky stars since it was hard enough pushing my grandmother in her wheelchair in that heat!

Thanks for the report!

 You stood in line with Joey Pants?! I want to stand in line with him! Not fair! FYI he's no longer a Sopranos star. Tony took care of him a couple seasons ago. ;)

Great report. Sounds like you ad fun. :)

As for the biometrics...

The lines would move so much faster if people had a clue. They need some very BOLD, clearly illustrated signs depicting what it is you need to do upon putting your ticket through at all the entrances.

i also find the biometrics really dumb, they cause big headaches, why not just show id? anyway, my aunts AP got screwed up and she had to wait in the guest services line for an hour and missed her dinner ressies an CP.

I know he's not on soprano's, I should have said former Soprano's star, check out my myspace I put the pic of him walking away from me, I didn't want to be a pain and cause a scene. And they do have REALLY BIG signs showing the 3 steps of getting in the park but the fact of the matter is people are stupid and still have no clues.
