7DMT need opinions

Any one who has had the chance to ride the 7DMT, I was wondering how bad of a ride is it? My fastpass plus window comes up in a couple weeks, and my Dad is going with us, he has had extensive back surgeries and has a kind of delicate back now, I was just wondering how rough and jerky it really is, and I know the cars move back and forth, but are they stationary in the loading area? he really wants to try this but I'm a little leary. He is just fine with star tours and EE, but RRC , TT, and BTM are a little to rough and jerky for him. I would love any opinion ya'll could give me!

As someone who has undergone several back surgeries, I can tell you that for me it would not be worth it. If I ride something I should not have tried, and it aggravates preexisting problems, it not only affects me, but those I am with. I now avoid rides that could cause problems more so my wife does not have to listen to me complain than anything. Not worth chancing.
Cannot give you first hand info about 7DMT. It could be just fine for your dad. For me, I won't chance it.

It's very smooth but waaaay too short.

I have to say that you can't even feel the rocking. If he can ride EE it's just as smooth as that but less thrilling. It's more or less a dark ride with a small hill and some turns. EE is waaaaaaay more thrilling imo. The seats though, they can be pretty tight if you are tall/bigger. I'm not too big but it's pretty darn tight. I have a friend who is 6'4 and big and he doesn't really even ride it that much because of that.

So if you are taller than 4'6 your legs will be squished in (I'm 4'9 and it's super tiny even for me.) It's pretty cute though but most of the time the wait is actually 25-hour wait rather than 90 minutes.

I totally agree with you, my Mom showed him your reply and said "see a smart person", but he said that it looks so tame and he is sick of missing out on everything

If Everest is OK then the mine train should be no problem. Its extremely smooth and I never felt whipped around. It was probably one of the smoothest roller coasters I have ever been on. I have no expertise on back problems but I can't imagine it being an issue if Everest isn't a problem.

I have had back problems in the past and had back surgery a few years back for 2 severely herniated discs. I just rode 7DMT a few weeks back with my family... it was very smooth. As others have said, if he has no problem with EE... he will be fine on 7DMT. It is NOTHING like BTMRR!
I don't know how many others you will be with, but you can always get him a FP+ and have you or someone else in you family or group ride it and then get a true feel for how mild it is and let him know it is safe for him to ride.
Also... IMO this is only a FP+ ride. We were there at rope drop and were going to get in standby as our FP+s were in the mid afternoon. We went straight there (with everyone else) and the standby was 75 minutes. I would not wait any more the 20...not worth any more of a wait.
