I would expect to see soft opens take place with no FP+ This allows them to open and close the attraction as required. Once it officially opens, I would then expect to see FP+ introduced.

Disney has not yet given any indication of when FP+ will be available for booking.

So, lets say it is to open on May 2nd, when do you think the FP+ will become available for it?
We don't really have any big openings in the FP+ era, so very little to go on historically. But I wouldn't be surprised to not see it open for FP+ until it officially opens. So in your example, May 2. But it is a complete guess.

I would say ride standby the first time so you can see all the queue. FP+ will most likely bypass much of it.

This. I'm not risking one of my other FP+ selections at MK on a "this might be open by my trip." I also agree that it may be worth seeing the entire queue at least once.

My plan of attack: our first day there is when MK has evening EMH. Since everything that I've read indicates that MK tends to die down significantly after the fireworks, I'm going to wait for the crowd to die down before I try to get in that line. It may still be a long wait, but should be much less than in the middle of the day. We'll see how well that works for me LOL ;)

It doesn't die down until about an 1 hour before EMH are over. So beware. But if you can make MK rope drop that may be even better.

Yeah, DH has pretty much said he won't do rope drop, and I somewhat agree. We don't like getting up early and we are on vacation LOL.

I've been looking at wait times on my phone app just to see how this pans out, and it looks like most things are fairly accessible after about 10 pm from what I have seen. Add to that the fact that others here have said that those times tend to be inflated, and I'm not overly concerned (although I'm not counting on being able to ride Space and Peter Pan five times in a row either). We will be there for six days, and I'm thinking Thursday and Friday we'll be able to hop back over to MK after our earlier plans are done, so one way or the other I think we'll be fine.

I didn't think about missing most of the queue! Good thing we are hitting up morning EMH on our trip in May. That is something I wouldn't want to miss.

"It will be available as soon as the opening date is announced." - Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Social Media Manager.

FOF official opening date was announced 14/13 days prior and fp+ was available 10 days prior. So I'm hopping 7dmt follows! Because I'll be there!

My experience a couple of weeks ago was that the wait times were underestimated for the most part. I was there on a week day and wait times were actually longer than listed, with some rides, such as HM, being much longer. Just FYI.

Correct me if im wrong but isn't this kind of unprecedented? When I say that I mean with it being so close to the rumored opening timeframe and not having announced the official opening date... Making me nervous for Late May!
