Unused park hopper ticket from 2001-still good?

Hello, this is my first post! What a great site! Anyway, on to my question. I have 2 5-day park hopper tickets (little credit card looking tickets) that each have one day left on them that I purchased in Dec. 2000, for our trip in Feb. 2001. Are they still valid? I know now that the current tickets expire within 14 days after first use, but at the time I purchased these in 2000, they never expired (to my best remembrance!) I emailed WDW Guest Services with this question and they said they couldn't tell me if they were valid or not until I brought them to the gate ticket office.

Also, do they not offer a half-day ticket anymore?

Thanks in advance!

Anne
Current trip planned for Oct 14-19, staying at the Dolphin

I can't asnwer the one half day ticket for sure, but I don't believe I have seen those offered.

As to your Hopper from 2000, those were non expirational at that time, so they would still be valid. The CM probably told you they would have to check at the park just to make sure there are days left.

Todays tickets can be made non-expirational, for a charge. ( i bought a 10 day ticket and for an extra $100 made it non-expirational..used to have an AP but not going as oftern). I opted for the 10 day as the tickets amoratize out cheaper per day, for the longest days purchased)

You can also use your old tickets to upgrade to a new one if you want. For me, it would depend on how many days were left on the ticket, and how many days I was staying. hope that helps.

Your tickets are still good. You will have to bring them to guest services so they can be exchanged for a new ones. Do not cash them in against the price of a new ticket you will lose out that way since the price of the ticket today is much more than it was when you purchased them. Just exchange them for the new type of ticket media.

I would think that they will still honor the tickets. You will need to get them exchanged at one of the ticket windows. The new tickets have an expiration date unless you choose to purchase the no expiration date option for an additional fee. Before my family became annual passholders we would by the five day pass and use it one day at a time over a year or two. You can no longer do this unless you pay the extra fee.

It totally makes me wish that I had purchased a bunch of park hopper tickets back years ago and just sat on them. I would have locked in good ticket prices.:hammer:

I can attest to the fact that the tickets are still valid. In fact, you shouldn't even have to exchange them. Disney began issuing the new ticket media well before you bought your tickets. Since you got them in 2000, they (should) have the magnetic strip on them (like a credit card), in which case you're good to go.

You would only have to exchange them for new media if they're the type without the mag strip and just have the dates used stamped on the front. If that is the case (doubtful in your situation), you can take them to any tickey booth or guest relations and have them exchanged for the same # of days on current media. But like I said before, this shouldn't be the case you're in.

Chances are that the reason they told you to come in is that they don't want to tell you one thing over the phone and then have you get there and have some hiccup go wrong. If they have the ticket in hand, they can be 100% sure that what they're telling you is correct.

Enjoy your trip!

The only half-day tickets I have seen in a long time were only available as part of conference packages. My uncle was offered one about a year ago as part of a professional conference he was attending at the Contemporary's convention center. That was January of 2005, after they started making tickets so darn complicated. I'm not certain whether they are still available as part of those sort of group packages, since they might have been contractually committed to that conference (it comes back onsite every year) before the new ticket scheme went into effect.

There is a mention of half day tickets here:

So I guess they're still available for meeting groups.
