7 Dwarfs Mine Train Vs. Big Grizzly Mountain Run to start a Disney Park?

Which would you rather have to start a Magic Kingdom style park?

7 Dwarfs Mine Train:


Big Grizzly Mountain Run:


Which would you rather have to start a Magic Kingdom style park?
Both are well themed.

1.Big Grizzly runs at 3 minutes, geared to teenage/tween crowd with more thrills but does have story elements in the ride.
2. 7 Dwards Mine Train runs at 2:30 (right?) geared to children with parents and while there are some thrills has more of the Disney magic sprinkled in through the storyline.

Watched both of these videos and I have to say, if I'm starting a park... I want 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. I think while it lacks the speed of Big Grizzly, it has a lot of that Disney Magic I love.
I'm a father of two girls below the age of 5. If I was a teenager, I'm sure my answer would be different.

I'm interested to see who like which better. Both I feel are great rides geared at a different audience. Which would you choose if you could only choose one?

It may turn out I'm in the minority here. while I like themed rollercoasters like Grizzly, I like more show elements. So I have to go with Mine Train. I consider these coasters in the same class...all just themed a little different.

Now I would choose a splash mountain or Expedition everest over seven Dwarfs mine train....but between Grizzly, and SDMT...I got to go with SDMT. I'm more of a theme first thrill second guy.

But...I might be all alone on an island with this question.

I tend to agree with you here. Grizzly reminds me of a retake on Everest, without as much theming. Seven Dwarfs is a unique attraction that can't be tied to anything else except in story concept.

Agreed. There is no comparison. Grizzly's target is Tweens and older and those people who are looking for thrills. However, Seven Dwarfs Mine train is targeting grade school aged children and young children.

I like both attractions. The Mine Train audio-anametronics in the mine section are spectacular in my book in comparison to Big Grizzly. Not saying that they effects are bad in Grizzly, I love the effects, I think they're spectacular as well. But I'd have to go with the Mine Train.... It's more of a ride I'd ride with my family.
