Week 9 brings us to 1969
There was not many choices this year coming from Disney.
I turned down two:Rascal; and the movie Smith.
I went with the movie: The Computer Wore tennis Shoes.
A pleasant enough of a movie. It does show its age, with the big computer and the slang. I do remember watching this movie on a Sunday night at home when I was younger. However, happily I did not remember much of the plot, so the movie was kind of new to me.
The plot follows Dexter Riley at Medfield College, helping his college recieve a computer from A.J. Arno a business man. After getting shocked while fixing the computer in the rain, Dexter goes from being a mediocre student to a brilliant one. Now Dexter has a couple of problems, his ego and info in his brain that he acquired from the computer that can send A.J. to jail.
The movie has funny moments, and corny moments.
This is the first of three Dexter Riley at Medfield College movies played by Kurt Russell. The next two are Now You See Him, Now You Don't and The Strongest Man In The World.
Cesar Romero (The Joker), AJ Arno, does a fine job as a bad guy (surprising).
Look for Pat Harrington, yes Schneider, as the moderator.
It is a hard movie to review. It is dated. I did get some chuckles. It came in at 91 minutes, and it seemed to fly by. I did not look at my watch at all.
I would have to give it 2 1/2 Mickeys out of 5. Right down the middle. It is a nice family movie.

A tip of the cap to Davey Jones who left us this week. Oh, how upset is Marcia.
And second, is anyone else as excited as I am after seeing the second trailer of BRAVE. You see a touch of Mulan in here by the way.

The look is great, and the plot seems exciting. After the debacle of Cars 2, it looks like PIXAR is back on track.
The next week we enter 1970, hint for the first time in awhile we will have an animated movie.
