Week 5 brings us to 1965.

Turned down/or just was not available through Netflix:
Those Calloways
The Monkeys Uncle

I went with That Darn Cat.
The movie has a good amount of stars from the late 50's, mid 60's.
Dean Jones
Halley Mills
Roddy McDowall
Frank Gorshin
Ed Wynn (who starred in many Disney movies, including last weeks Mary Poppins. Sadly a year after the release of this movie he passed away)

Well to the movie. It picks up right after a bank robbery, where two robbers are hiding in an apartment complex. They have a teller as a hostage. The teller finds a stray cat in the kitchen and puts her watch on the cat with HEL scratched on it (she ran out of time for the P). The watch is found by Halley Mills, thus begins the meat of the story. The story really does not spend much time with the robbers, it focuses on Halley Mills's house and neighborhood. The movie plays out like a British Farce, with mistaken identity; slamming doors; people locked in closets; nosey neighbors; and many misunderstandings.
The movie is fun, it has held up well, it is still an enjoyable family film.

Some movie tidbits:
This was Dean Jones's first of many Disney films
This was Halley Mills's last Disney movie
A year after this movie was released Frank Gorshin played a small role, The Riddler on Batman.
This movie was redone in 1997 with Christina Ricci in the Halley Mills part. I have not seen that one, maybe when I get to 1997 during 52 in 52, I will watch it and review.
For this movie, by the way, starting this week, no more stars, I will give this movie 3 and a 1/2 out of 5 Mickeys.
Next week 1966!
