Week 12 brings us to 1972
I turned down:
Now You See Him Now You Don't
The Biscuit Eater
Napoleon And Samantha
Run Cougar Run
Chandar The Black Leopard Of Ceylon
I went with The Snowball Express!
I do not remember seeing this before, but as the movie went on I think I remember parts of it. All in all, it was being watched through fresh eyes.
The move follows John Baxter (Dean Jones), a New Yorker fed up with his job, he inherits a hotel in the Rocky Mountains. John and his family move to Colorado to run it. Sadly they are out of their element with a run down lodge, a lot of snow and a shady business man who wants to get his property.
The movie is a little dated, but it still works. You will see some great stunt work in this movie, which even by todays standards you will think is impressive. The ending was kind of abrupt (I can not give to much away, if you are going to take a look). I think it is also a confusing resolution for children.
The movie has a good amount of stars from this time period:
Of course Dean Jones
Nancy Olson plays his wife
Harry Morgan, you know from MASH and Dragnet
Johnny Whitaker, you know from Tom Sawyer and Sigmund And The Sea Monsters
George Lindsey, Goober from Andy Griffith
Kathleen Cody, from Dark Shadows
Mary Wickes, has a small part, from White Christmas and Dennis The Menace
This is a short 52 in 52, I have no fun and not so fun facts.
The movie is a fun Disney movie. It is harmless and moves along fine. I would give it 3 Mickeys out of 5. Maybe a little higher if the ending was a little better.
Well next week brings us to 73.
Thanks for taking the time to read 52 in 52.
Have a peaceful week.
