About me? Disney Fanatic/Movie Fanatic/Baseball Fanatic

I have seen over 70 movies in the theatre this year. How? The wife travels often. So I go to a theatre, hangout to watch a couple films. It is harmless.
So now I combine my love of movies and Disney in 2012 by watching 52 Disney/Touchstone/Pixar movies, 1 per week, for the year. This is one from each year going back 52 years counting 2012.
I will be using US theatricle release dates. Give your input if you like. Do you agree with my review (I will be using a 5 star system, also taking into account how it holds up)? Or my choice of movie?
I will start a new thread here each week of 52 in 52.

First week: already a tough choice for the year 1961.

Greyfiriars buddy---ahhh no
Babes In Toyland--I will keep it clean
Niki Wild Dog Of The North--Sounds good but no

It left me with a big three
101 Dalmations
The Parent Trap
The Absent Minded Professor

Either one would have been wonderful, but I wanted to see 101 Dalmations so it jumped to the top of my Netflix.

Week 1

A movie about a woman who kidnaps dogs, for the fur. She wants to skin them. Wait a minute, I think a movie won an Oscar for this but wanted to skin people.
I mean if you step back, it does sound like a horror movie. Why did this not bother me as a child?

Ok to the movie. The movie looks wonderful. The look and the story holds up great. Cruella De Vil is one of the best villians of all time. The movie also is not overly long. If anybody saw Tin Tin this winter, it looked great. Story was great, after an hour and a half, I thought it was a little long and needed an editor. Dalmations came in at 79 minutes.

I know I sound soft here, but I cannot find anything wrong with this film, I have to give it 5 of 5.

I will try to give fun facts of the movie each week thanks to IMDB, this week 2:

Characters from "Lady and the Tramp" are shown in brief cameos during the Twilight Bark scene: Jacque is first shown coming out of a doghouse and then barking into the drainpipe a dog in an upper apartment. The strays Peg and her friend the bulldog are seen in a pet shop with various puppies, and Lady is shown very briefly with several dogs at the end of the scene when the barking reaches across the entire city.

Clarence Nash (best known as the voice of Donald Duck) did the dog barks for this film.

Well there is week 1. Join me with comments throughout the year. Ignore any misspelled words throughout the year, sometimes my fingers move faster than my brain.

In my area we had a movie radio show hosted by Steve Friedman who sadly passed on, he was one of the nicest guys on the radio, maybe to nice for radio. He had a wonderful movie memory. He always said this wonderful line: When it comes to our likes and dislikes of movies, It isn't that someone has bad taste in movies, it is just we have different tastes and that is ok.
