Pre-Trip 50th anniversay family trip

This is my first ever trip report or as for now, pre-trip. I love reading the trip reports and was so excited that I had to make one!

So, this isn't my 50th anniversay but it will be my in-laws and Disney was their choice of place to celebrate with family. I can't wait!!

There will be 10 of us traveling from Tennessee to Florida (in different cars thankfully). It will be my MIL, FIL, my dh, dd (3 years old and first time at Disney), SIL, BIL (first time to Disney), 2 nephews, nephew's girlfriend (first time to Disney) and myself.

We will be there from April 27-May 4 2015

We will be staying off-site (I know that is a bad word to some) at Sheraton Vistana Villages.
We picked that place because our famly can stay in two/two bedroom villas. My MIL likes to cook on vacation so having the kitchen will be nice.

I'm excited for my in-laws to celebrate their Golden Anniversary but I'm also excited to see Disney through the eyes of my daughter. We have been talking about it daily. I've been there many times before but this time I'm excited to actually ride things that I probably passed up in the past.

We do not have our plans set in stone but as for now we're planning:

Arrive Monday 27th-Check in. Relax. Buy groceries. Swim. Relax. :) I'm sure we'll be exhausted this day.
Tuesday 28th-Magic Kingdom
Wednesday 29th-Drive to the beach (first time for daughter to see the ocean)
Thursday 30th-Debating on either Hollywood Studios or Universal with my SIL's family
Friday 1st-IL's anniversay so we'll be doing what they want to do that day and celebrating
Saturday 2nd-Visit family and friends that live in Florida/Relax
Sunday 3rd-Magic Kingdom
Monday 4th-Drive back home :(

We don't want to plan very much each day because we want to be able to go with the flow and not feel rushed. I'm sure we'll go to DTD one night and I'd like to check out the Boardwalk Resort since I've never been. Maybe rent a 4 seater bike thingy (what's it called?). We want to have fun and be relaxed. We'll probably be following our 3 year old around honestly.

I love planning things far in advance. My family probably hates me because of it but I think it is so fun and it takes my mind away from my busy days. Planning is my mental get away :) Once the trip is over, I'm sure I'll be depressed.

So I think that is it for now. If y'all have any suggestions on things to do for my in-law's anniversary around Orlando, I'm open for suggestions. Or any suggestions on anything is welcome.

Congrats with your in-laws! Looks like you and your family will have a great anniversary! Great that you don't want to plan very much. For us it is the same! Go with the flow and see what happends.... on every morning decide where to go that day. On the other hand, during our last visit we planned every day which park to go and we had fastpass+, so when you have that you still have to plan to go which park on which day!

Enjoy the pre feelings!!

Congrats on the 50th anniversary to the in-laws, that is a major feet in itself. Sounds to me that the whole family will have a Magical time visiting Disney World. All of the plans seem to be in relaxation mode which is really the way to visit Florida. Will be watching for more details and the trip report.

Thank you both! And it's so nice to talk Disney with people that have a love for it as well and actually understands me :)
I would love to pre-order our tickets and schedule our fastpasses but my friend that works at Disney may be getting us in so I don't think we'll have tickets until we get there. Will there be any fastpasses left if we wait until we are there that day?

It's great to talk to people who loves Disney and WDW as much as you do yourself! That's what is so great about this side with news, PTR's and TR's :) And you can pick the right tips while reading the TR's. In my opinion there are still fastpasses on the day you arrive, but you have to be early. Later during the day for some rides the fastpasses are gone! BTW great to have a friend who is working as Disney... is he/she a character?

Thank you for the fastpass info! My friend actually works in the office part. Not sure exactly what she does but she was there when they were laying cable at Epcot so she has been there a long time.
