5 ABC/Dis Fellows Get TV Staff Jobs
(Hollywood Reporter) -- It's pomp and circumstance time for the scribes who took part in the 2001-02 ABC/Disney Writers Fellowship Program. Five of this year's seven graduates on the TV side of the yearlong fellowship program have landed staff writing jobs on new ABC/Disney series. During the course of the year, the fellows gain exposure to the production process through writing workshops and seminars and mentoring from ABC and Disney creative executives. For the 2001-02 program, 12 writers were selected from a field of 2,500 entries. Seven were offered TV fellowships, while five went into the film study program. The TV gradu-ates that have segued to staff jobs are Edward Evans on the Disney Channel comedy "Raven," Brenda Hsueh on ABC's untitled midseason comedy from writer-producer Michael Jacobs, Dailyn Rodriguez on ABC's "The George Lopez Show," Nelson Soler on ABC's new drama "That Was Then" and Veena Sud on ABC's new drama "Push, Nevada."
