4th of July

I just saw on Allearsnet a review of places to watch the fireworks on the 4th. The person said they viewed both the MGM and then the Epcot fireowrks from the Boardwalk. We are staying at the BC and that sounded like a nice idea. Has anyone ever done it? When I made the room reservations the cas member suggested picking which park we wanted to watch the fireworks from and staying there all day as the parks have been known to max out. Sounds too crowded for our family as we have 3 kids. We usually will go back to the hotel and nap before fireworks, which doesn't seem like an option. Any advice?

I've never done the 4th at WDW before, but everything I've heard is that it's packed to the rafters. We plan to go to Epcot (got ADRs @ Rose & Crown for that evening) and stay there all day. I picked Epcot because it's my favorite park and, if I get tired during the day, I can pick a spot (hopefully) and rest for awhile.

We've never done it on the 4th of July- but I imagine it's much the same as New Year's Eve- which we have done!

We parked ourselves in beach chairs in the sand in front of the BC. With a minor turn of the head- we were able too see both the fireworks at MGM and EPCOT! Best of all- when it was over- we walked back to our room at the BC without the crazy exit from the actual park!

We'll be there again on the 4th- maybe we'll see you on the beach!:)

That is exactly what we did last year for the fourth (right down to the Rose & Crown)... it is definitely busy, but if you plan accordingly and anticipate the crowds it really isn't that bad- the amazing fireworks more than compensate... you should try to go see the fireworks at MK on July 3 (it's the same show as on July 4) and from Epcot you can see most of the MGM fireworks... so basically you can experience all of the WDW 4th of July if you plan well... have fun!!

Thanks for the tip about the fireworks! Coincidentally, we have an evening ADR at MK on the 3rd. :sohappy:

Eyekimore thanks for the info. I think that is what we will do. I love the idea of seeing the fireowrks at MK the night before. Allearsnet says it is Fantasy in the Sky and I did love that show. If anyone is on the beach of the BC on the 4th look for a family of 5: A daughter who is 11, a son that is 9 with lots of curls and another son who is 6 and has really long hair. Please say hello!

The last time we were at WDW for the 4th, my wife and youngest went back to the Wilderness pool and watched the fireworks at MK from there. My oldest and I went to Epcot, which was bust but not even close to as busy as MK. I believe MK maxed out around noon that day. We started at AK and end up at Epcot.

We were also there for NYE 2004, then we stayed at the CBR. We could see the fireworks from our building (52) from Epcot, MGM, and DTD al at once, with a little turn of the head.

We have been to the world a couple of times on the 4th, including last year. We had dinner reservations at Ohana on the 3rd, then went over to MK for the fireworks. They were definately worth dealing with the 17 million people in the park

Then on the 4th, we spent the day in Epcot and saw the extended Illuminations that evening, and again...fantastic. I would definately do AK/Epcot/MGM on the 4th. Epcot being the best, simply because the park is so large, it eats up a lot of people better than the other 2.

Bring your patience and you will enjoy some of the best fireworks you will see on the 4th of July. It is a great place to be!

epcot is good because they do it right after illuminations so it was like a huge firework show. plus red white and blue lazers and music. it was pretty cool
