47th best movie song ever ... but noone can hear it

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah from Song of the South was voted #47 in the American Film Institutes countdown of the top 100 movie songs. Too bad no one can see the movie.

I agree wholeheartedly! I will sign any petition to get this movie released in it's original format as it should be on DVD. Even if I have to listen to Maltby blather on about how culture etc was different when the film was made...

And if they release it with a large bullfrog instead of Uncle Remus I'll boycott!

We just watched this movie Sunday....it's one of our favorites...my boys sing the song all the time and say it's their favorite movie ever. The premise and the way the live action and animation was brought together is probably the best thing from its time and the movie gets a raw deal IMHO. I can't even remember how I ended up with this on DVD but I do remember paying a fortune...I have it on VHS too but it was a copy from a japanese subtitled laserdisc that a friend sent the boys as a gift when he was stationed in Japan.
