Just on CNBC. I personally am upset by this. But I know I'm in the minority. Sometimes the evil you know is better than the evil you don't know yet... And the company is making a bit of a turnaround. Wish they gave him 1 more year.

It is scarry not knowing, but I don't think WDC will be foolish enough to place a person in the CEO spot not qualified! A person would be a fool to make the same mistakes that Eisner has made lately (amimation, CM loss & morale. park upkeep, loss of important business relationships, and so on ...). Also,IMO, whoever takes over is going to be out to please everyone to seperate himself from Eisner. We still have to see Mike leave before we can start asking these questions. As far as 1 more year.... he has been a little sluggish the last 6 or 7... when is enough, enough?

no worries just yet! no matter how many votes he gets, he's still in office. it's either up to him or the board whether or not he'll remain CEO. i'd bet that something will happen eventually, but he'll have to find a successor before he goes. which has been a major problem...for years he's run the company by himself and without someone to take his place. running a huge company like Disney all by oneself is never a good thing!

I don't think anything will happen immediately this year. Not with the comcast bid. Obviously the titles will be split, no more CEO/Chairman. I think though it may be sooner than 2006 though that Eisner is gone.

I dont want to make a long drawn out argument about why Eisner should leave but I will disagree with his comment the other day about creativity being the number one goal. In an interview where he stressed the importance of animation and Disney's creativity, he mentions their productions currently underway:

"We'll be making a Nemo sequel, a Monster sequel, and a sequel to Toy Story just as we made a Toy Story sequel before."

Hardly anyway of being creative Mr. Eisner. Its just a quick fix to a defunct lack of imagination and I will be personally glad to see you pack your bags.

That's so much higher than I would have expected. I feel sorry for Eisner, since I do think he has the best interest of the shareholders in mind... however, I think there have been numerous long-term goals sacrificed for the short term. At any rate, he is very near retirement age...

I listened to the whole conference while at work today. On the way home I'm computing the #'s in head head, thinking"that's over 40%, it can't be".

Glad to see that it was. This is a small victory in the ongoing quest to right the Disney ship

I think I see the S.S. Eisner listing a bit to port...

Maybe when Roy takes over he will still have a job...like doing the audio tests for It's A Small World:lol:

But seriously...the man could never work another day in his life and have enough $$$ to support his family for who knows how long. Give him a lower-ranking job and lets get it over with!!!

Just gotta say something. I am listening to the stockholder meeting, and applauds, etc. are great. But did you hear it when Roy and Stan went up?!?! Holey Moley! :D
