Pre-Trip 42 years of Disneyworld trips, time for another round

I've had a pretty nice Disney life. I had a fortunate childhood as my Grandparents lived in South Georgia and had the financial means to take me there just after it opened and have swum in Bay Lake at the beach. I've always been enthralled by the Disney Magic, proposed to my now wife there 20 years ago and we've always considered Disney a safe escape from the vacation masses.

I believe we're just going to go just once this year but will arrive at Shades of Green this Friday in time for Oktoberfest and a week of food and wine festival.

We have scheduled a few extras so far:

2 Not so Scarys ( I hope we don't get soaked to the bone this year, one of these will be for rides and candy)

Two new events
1 Villains' Sinister Soiree 2nd seating
1 Festival of the senses.

I hope you will have a trip report up soon?! I'm heading in a few weeks and a very excited for MNSSHP! We've never done a party before so I'm really excited! What are the new events? Are these separate to the party itself?

Yes
The villains soiree is an upcharge event inside Mickey's Halloween held inside Cinderella Castle also with a reserved parade area for the first run. New for this year.

The Festival for the senses is a food and wine event in Epcot that we've never gone to before. First time our trip has overlapped for more than a couple of days.

Oh great thanks for the info! We have not experienced either the F&W festival (although we’ve been twice when is being set up in September) or one of the Disney parties before and this time we’re doing two parties and the F&W so I think we’ll just stick to the party events themselves this time but I may look into some of the F&W events. We also have so many ADR’s and restaurants we want to try so it’s really hard to fit it all in, even with a two and a half week trip, I don’t think you ever have enough time in Disney!!
