40% Discount and FREE DINING

Quick question - for those who booked the 40% AP Discount - is the FREE DINING included in that (if you are traveling when it is offered?) Or do you have to get the package instead?

One or the other, not both.

In my case I'm staying at Beach Club - 40% off a water view is saving me a lot more than Free Dining possibly could. US$246/night instead of US$410/night and using Tables in Wonderland for meals discounts was a much better deal than the free dining.

Disney allows you to use only one promotion when booking a reservation. So you would either get to choose the 40% offer (as Monty did) or you would be able to pay regular price for the room and get the dining plan. Price it out and see what works best for you.

Thanks. I called at 6am on the dot. I couldnt check rooms because the guy said there system was down and to call again in a couple of hours.

I booked the 40% AP discount WITH dining. It's not FREE dining.

Broke down to:

Room Only 40% off @ POP = $63/night
Room & dining 40% off @ POP = $1545 for 2 people for 10 nights.

...trust me, the dining ISN'T free - BUT 40% off and being able to add the DDP is a HUGE value

Edit: I usually don't do to DDP, but I'm taking a Disney-virgin with me this time and I want him to get the full experience w/o having to worry about paying for food

The obvious first step it to get an annual pass. (you don't need it to boo the AP rate but you will need it at check in) Second would be to book a stay during a time that there is an AP discount promotion. If you have an idea of when you will be traveling I can let you know what is currently available at that time.
