4 Years of Anniversaries!

Just realized that not only that 2016 is celebrating the 45th Anniversary of MK & WDW Resort as a Whole...In the next 3 years we have 3 more to celebrate....

2017 - Epcot's 35th Anniversary
2018 - Disney's Animal Kingdom's 20th Anniversary
2019 - Disney's Hollywood Studios 30th Anniversary..

And at least a year breather in between for the 50th Anniversary of the WDW Resort after that..

So get ready for 4 years of Anniversary Guidebooks and Celebratory Buttons....And maybe a cupcake thrown in here-n-there....

Unfortunately, they don't do celebrations like they used to. 15-month resort-wide celebrations have been downgraded to special park maps, a t-shirt or three, and cupcakes. But that's just great!!!! and magical!!!! to all the pixiedusters around here.

I'd be happy if they did something... ANYTHING... beyond these insipid, brain-dead "celebrations" these days.

I remember going to WDW for the 15 year anniversary when they gave away prizes every 15 seconds. That would be cool if they would do something like that again for the 50th.

Disney PR: "A special Mickey Mouse sticker will be given away EVERY 50 SECONDS!!! to a lucky guest!"

Sadly, a giveaway like the 15th (which I do remember, also), or even during the 100 YoM will never even be thought of, let alone see the light of a Disney boardroom.

That Special was AWFUL! It was just Eisner trying to get guest stars to be on a special, Some musical artist in front of the castle and PI...No Rides, no other parks being shown..It was as bad as the DL 60th special.....Now, if you want to go with something as a Special....Go with this...
