Ok,

So there are 4 animated films premiering this fall:

Shark Tale 10/1/04

The Incredibles 11/4/04 (The same weekend as the Alexander the Great movie and the next Farrelly Bros movie

The Polar Express 11/19/04 &
Spongebob Squarepants 11/19/04 (also coming out this date is "The Brother Grimm" and "First Daughter")

My thought is this, Shark Tale will probably do allright, as it will be the first heavily promoted kid-friendly film to premier after school is back in session. The Incredibles will do allright, but probably will not have Nemo sized returns, as from the trailers, it does not as appealing as Nemo did.

So, 2 animated films premier the same weekend, I think the last time this happened was in 1989 will The Little Mermaid and The Land Before Time both premiered within 5 days of each other (TLBT premiered the Friday before Thanksgiving, TLM premiered the Tuesday or Wednesday before Thanksgiving) Can both of these moview be successful? The Polar Express may appeal to those seeking a holiday movie, or those that have read the book, but Spongebob is much more popular.
