What, where, and how much are some good 3d builders?
I want to create 3D object in *.3ds format.
I want a relatively cheap, but still good program.

3ds is "3D Studio" format..only 2 programs make it nativly...3dSMax or 3d studio r4 (old dos version)...if you want to get started in 3d may I suggest POVRay, or Blender..both are free..and goot starts ;)
