Pre-Trip 30th Birthday - What would you do?

Hi!

My name is Tim and I'm a frequent trip report reader. We are DVC members and AP holders, and I've come here for some advice for a trip coming up!

I turn 30 in August. Recently, after talking with a friend, we stumbled across a Southwest Airlines $49 flight deal. Crazy, right??? So, my wife and I booked a 6am flight on a Friday morning to WDW. We will be staying one night in a studio at the Boardwalk Villas. Our return flight is 9:00pm on Saturday night. So, roughly 2 days in the best place on earth, with no kids!!

So my question is this. What would you do? We've got annual passes so we can park hop. EPCOT is open until 11pm on Friday night, so I know for sure we will stay there that night and walk back to the resort.

Any thoughts or ideas you've got, go! No bad ideas here. :)

Thanks!

I got no ideas for your birthday sorry, hope the day is fun tho!

I am just upset about the southwest fares! I can NEVER find a good fare and I live in a major city! I just looked yesterday and found "wanna get away" fares for 220 RT, non stop. But darn, at the price you got I would have taken the whole family!

I know, right? I was super surprised with the price. Although, we are flying from ATL, so it's not a terribly long flight. We also got a killer deal on the room with the summer pass holder rates they are running.

I hope those flights decrease in price for you soon!!

Happy Birthday!!

What are your fave parks? Are you a gotta-get-as-much-pixie-dust-in-my-system-as-possible guy? Or do you like to relax and take it slow since you are DVC and know you will be heading back?

We would probably hit one park Friday morning and head over to Epcot for a nice dinner and Illuminations. You'll be close to your hotel when you do finally feel the crash from getting up at the crack of stupid for such an early flight (the only way to squeeze in as much of the magic as possible!). Or just spend the day there - hit your fave rides, stroll around hand-in-hand without kiddie hands. Have a Grand Marnier Orange Slushie (or two or three, etc) or any fave drink while sitting and taking in the beauty of world showcase.

We would have to spend a day in the MK. That would be Saturday for us. Do as much as you can. Have fun. Do you have a fave restaurant or character meal? Try to see if you can book a meal and feel like a kid again on such a milestone bday.

Definitely let them know it's a big bday for you. Wear your pin proudly! And have a magical time!

Maybe I should look for prices from Indy to ATL and then from ATL to Orlando? If I could shave off a few dollars it would be a help on the spending budget!
