Pre-Trip 30? Who's 30? A Gluten free 30th Birthday Pre-Trip report

I've left this pre-trip report a little late as we leave for 2 weeks at the Beach Club on the 13th August. My entire family really need this trip as we have had a pretty rough couple of months and really need some Disney magic in our lives. This will be the first trip since i've been diagnosed with Coeliac Disease and while i'm gutted i can't partake in all the yummy cupcakes this year i'm excited about eating on holiday and not needing to rush off to be sick or need to lie down.

In May this year i turned 30. To be honest I was terrified of turning 30, i fully expected to wake up with a head of grey hair and a face full of wrinkles, so to soften the blow we decided to make it a year long celebration. We are calling it The Year of 30 (kind of like the Year Of A Million Dreams but better) where i intend to squash as many amazing things into this year as I can starting with celebrating my birthday in WDW. We had to postpone the birthday trip until May due to my mum working in a school and not getting time off but I can finally say I celebrated a birthday in Disney even if it is a couple of months late.
Enough if this rambling, lets introduce the cast of characters...

First up is me. I'm Kandi, 30 years young and completely obsessed with Disney. I'm a former ICP and loved every minute of my summer program. I love anything to do with Tangled and Rapunzel and Pascal are my favourite characters. I even got Pascal tattooed on my foot. I'm mummy to a kitty called Loki who is like my baby, i've never left him for this long before so i'm scared but know he will be in safe hands.

Next up is my sister Alysia, shes 24 and got engaged last year at Disney so she has been really busy planning the wedding for next May. Her favourite character is Thumper and while shes not as obsessed as me she still loves Disney a lot. Unfortunately her fiancé isn't joining us this year but he is cat sitting for me so i know Loki will be looked after.

My brother is called Dominik and he is 20. He is my partner in crime when it comes to taking stupid photos and selfies. He loves anything to do with cars and will be joining us after spending a couple of days in Washington DC where he is meeting up with fellow car enthusiasts.

The Patriarch of the family is my Daddybear. He has had a couple of rough months medically and a couple of years ago got a pacemaker so he earned the nickname Robodad. He pretends he hates Disney but i'm pretty sure he loves it as he is the one to suggest we go back year after year.

Last but not least is my beautiful Mummybear. She is my best friend and we talk on the phone pretty much every day even though we live in the same town. She first went to Disney in 1984 and she is pretty sure my love of Disney comes from that trip when she was pregnant with me. Her favourite character is Piglet.

We booked our ADR's before my Coeliac diagnosis and decided to keep them all as we really wanted to try out all our choices. Alysia is the planner and she made all our ADRs and fastpasses for us on the app. Its a good job as Dominik and I are more go with the flow types so its nice to have someone take charge of booking things.

So where are we eating?

14/8 Cape May (B)
15/8 Grand Floridian Cafe (L)
16/8 Rainforest Cafe (D)
17/8 Chefs de France (D)
18/8 'Ohana (B)
19/8 Mama Melrose's (D)
20/8 The Plaza (L)
21/8 Raglan Road (D)
22/8 Beaches and Cream (D)
23/8 Be Our Guest (L) Biergarten (D)
24/8 Captain's Grille (B) Rose and Crown (D)
25/8 Trails End (D)
26/8 Tutto Italia (L)
27/8 HOME :(

We don't often do rope drop, i think i can count on my fingers how many times we have managed to get there for RD in the last 15 years. We tend to stay all day and have designated pool and shopping days instead of going back for a rest. Sometimes my dad will head back with my mum and leave us 'kids' in the parks and join up again later in the evening. Its our first time at the BC and i'm excited to stay at an Epcot resort.

To finish off this pre-trip report here is a picture of Loki looking pretty dapper in a tie (yes, i know i'm biased)

You will have zero issues with eating GF in Disney. My wife was diagnosed over 15 years ago and hadnt had real food until our Disney adventures began a few years ago. So many great things to eat, including cupcakes and othetr desserts (many are the normal menu items)! Have a great time and enjoy the food.
