Hi Guys

apologies if there is another thread for this, but i can't find it.

do we know if there is a confirmed date for the 24HR Magic Kingdom event and can someone tell me if there is any additional costs involved?

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
No 24 hour events have been announced for this year yet.
And no there is no extra charges to attend just need regular park tickets if they have one. :)

Something just popped into my head and I am curious...If you have a one day ticket, leave the park at say 11:50PM and then try to come back in at 12:15 do you need another day park ticket to re-enter? Never been to MK for one of these but we did have EMH until 1AM once and that was pretty cool. It was DD, DW and a couple of young couples, teens and tweens throughout the park. Basically the whole park as walk ons seemingly just for us.

It should still work since the event runs from 6am-6am the next day.

Open to close is a single park day, regardless of the date if you cross midnight. For example, if you went to Magic Kingdom at 5:00 AM on the morning following the 24 hour event and then tried to go to Epcot, your Epcot admission would be a second day, not a park hop.

Also interesting to note that if your travel date is 60 days after a 24 hour event (or evening EMH after midnight), you probably won't be able to book your Fastpasses until the park has closed on the 61st day prior.

Or meaning they could charge EXTRA for the event this year. Anything is possible now seeing their track record recently.

Nope I highly doubt that regardless of what they been doing. It's basically just a regular day in the parks they don't do anything extra special like paid events such as MVMCP etc. They have a few extras but nothing like special parades and fireworks and such so I really doubt it. :)

WDW is so beautiful and magical at night. It might be worth an upcharge to experience it fully after dark.

Whether it's an upcharge or some other guest management tactic, they need to do something about the crowds. I was at "One More Disney Day" in 2012 and #MonstrousSummer in 2013 and it was an absolute nightmare both times. I've posted it before, but it's the only time I've felt truly unsafe at a Disney park. I don't think the crowds register on the Phased Closing scale because the total number of guests in the park isn't that huge. The problem is that they're all concentrated on Main Street from the time the first MSEP began through midnight. Normally, after Wishes or the final MSEP, there's a surge of guests leaving the park. At the 24 hour events, there's also a surge of guests entering the park at the same time. The worst was around 8:00 to 10:30 when the Fantasmic and IllumiNations crowds were making there way over to MK. Absolute chaos.
