NASCAR truck series driver Daniel Dye has been suspended by NASCAR and Kaulig Racing indefinitely due to comments he made about Indycar driver David Malukas on social media.

I can't really go into details here, but all I can say is he did said stuff that he shouldn't have and had no idea what he was talking about.

Daniel Dye did apologize, but it was the "I'm sorry, but not really sorry" type of apology:facepalm:. Also Daniel Dye had an anti-bullying sponsorship.

This is now Daniel Dye's 2nd major penalty of his racing career. His first penalty was for being arrested in high school 4 years ago for punching another student in the groin.

NASCAR announced NASCAR Hall of Fame ballot Nominees today for the Modern Era ballot, Pioneer era ballot, and the Landmark award nominees.

I'm going list the Modern Era Ballot and explain about each Modern Era Ballot nominee:

  • Greg Biffle - Truck series champ, NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts series champ, and won 19 cup races.
  • Neil Bonnett - 18 time cup winner including back to back Coca Cola 600 wins and 1 Southern 500 win
  • Tim Brewer - 2 time cup championship winning crew chief
  • Jeff Burton - 21 cup wins including 2 Coca Cola 600 wins and Southern 500 win. Jeff Also has 27 NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series wins.
  • Randy Dorton -His Engines won 9 NASCAR Champions. From 1984 to the time Randy died from an Airplane crash in late October of 2004, His Engines won races for Hendrick Motorsports.
  • Ray Elder- 6 time Arca Menards West Series champion. Ray also won 2 Cup races in the 1970s despite not racing a lot in the cup series.
  • Ernie Elliott - 1988 Cup winning crew chief and was known as an engine builder. His engines had NASCAR records at Daytona and Talladega before NASCAR started restrictor plates at those tracks. His engines had 40 cup wins, and 51 poles.
  • Kevin Harvick - I don't think his resume needs to be explained as a driver. He also won races as an owner in the truck series and the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series Champ
  • Randy Lajoie - 2 time NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series Champ and 1985 Busch Series North Champ
  • Jack Sprague - 3 time Truck Series champion

  • Harry Hyde - 1970 Cup Series champion and has 56 cup series wins. Played a big role in the early years of Hendrick Motorsports in the 1980s.
  • Banjo Matthews - Legendary Car builder. His cars won 72 percent of the time from 1974 to 1985. His cars even won all the races of the 1978 cup season.
  • Herb Nab - 2 time cup champion crew and has 3rd most wins ever as a crew chief.
  • Larry Phillips - 5 time NASCAR weekly series National champion.

The 2 people I see getting inducted from the Modern Era is Kevin Harvick and Greg Biffle. Kevin is a no brainer. Greg Biffle even before his death had a good chance getting inducted into the 2027 NASCAR hall of Fame Class with the other choice being Jeff Burton. The reason is if a voter looks at championships Greg has higher level NASCAR championships than Jack Sprague and Greg was more successful than Jack in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and the cup series. The less said about Jack Sprague outside of the truck series, the better in terms of his racing career.

The person I see getting Inducted from the Pioneer era is Larry Phillips. My reasoning is Voters tend to have a bias towards drivers. Larry as a driver played a role in developing drivers in multiple generations from drivers like NASCAR legend Rusty Wallace to Jammie Mcmurray.

Its a toss up to me for who is going to win the Landmark award between T. Wayne Robertson and Lesa France Kennedy.

There is an update. NASCAR reinstated Daniel Dye and Daniel resigned from Kaulig Racing.
