Planning a trip to WDW in Nov. Anyone have any ideas if the WDW will be operating anywhere close to normal?

Nope. Sorry. Wish the answer could be different. This has been asked in various forms by multitudes of posters, yearning that when they go back, things will be normal. The answer remains.... No one can predict how the Covid will play out, how the vaccine will affect the virus, when and how Disney will alter policy regarding parks, resorts, restaurants going forward. Its going to be a wait and see thing. Then respond to how things play out. Anyone saying any different will just be hazarding a guess without any information to back it up.

I totally agree. Many cities still have no idea on when things will be back to normal. Given the current climate, in reference to Covid in
Florida, things could be great. Any slow down in vaccinations or another surge in cases and you can throw any predictions out the window.

No clue; however, I think there are a few things that will change forever:
  • Reservations are here to stay.
    • Disney was already beginning to head this way with introducing the flex pass as an AP option at DL and with date based tickets it was getting closer and closer. Those of us that had the flex pass saw the writing on the wall and knew that it was inevitable that all tickets would eventually require reservations, COVID just made it come a lot faster than anyone expected.
  • FP+ as we knew it before is gone.
    • Instead I would expect to see something more along the lines of DL's FP system complete wiht Maxpass, maybe with an added perk for resort guests like being able to book two FPs at once or something.
  • Overall capacity will never get back to pre COVID levels, my guess is the new max capacity will be about 70%-80% of what it was before COVID and it will stay that way.
    • I think the public in general will not have a tolerance for the overcrowding that was happening prior to COVID and definitely not for a very long time.
  • Buses will never be standing room only again
    • Again, I just don't thing the public will accept this, which means Disney is probably scrambling right now to come up with safer alternatives or considering eliminating Disney Transportation completely. I hope they don't completely scrap it, but the present setup will be unsustainable when capacity does increase to whatever the new maximum will be.
  • Dining reservations will be 60 days (+10 for resort guests)
    • I don't think going back to 180 days will work out well and with so much being booked online it makes sense.
There may be others, but I think that these are ones that definitely will happen. I also hope the following changes stick around:
  • Ability to mobile order from TS restaurants at the resorts.
  • More flexibility in canceling and modifying reservations, tickets, etc.
  • Encouraging social distancing, especially in queues to provide a little more personal space. It doesn't need to be 6 feet, but at least more than before COVID.
I hope more entertainment returns quickly though.

We are in October. We will postpone to next spring if there are no character meet and greets, nor fireworks and still masks required. We also have a 6 and 3 year old. It’s not worth the cost for those little ones in current conditions. I think we collectively are trending in a great direction. Hopefully the pace keeps up and by end of summer Covid should be a more spot location thing in the US. Fingers crossed. It’s really hard to tell for this fall. I feel confident next spring summer we are normal.

Fall for us too, although nothing booked yet. Nothing official, just a hope right now too. Where we are we can go to the top of our unit at our timeshare and see the fireworks of Epcot and Magic Kingdom at the same time. Amazing stuff. Just can't picture a WDW trip without that sort of thing. So much would be missing right now.

Unfortunately, you are asking us to predict the future, which we cannot do!

I think Disney will need to monitor the COVID cases and hopefully at some point, they will all start going down and staying down.

It is important that everyone stay protected (masks/sanitizer, etc.) as well as getting vaccinated!

I assume some things will not change as they want to make sure this does not happen again.

After cancelling an April 2020 1 week trip

A 2020 November 2 week trip

moved our April 2021 trip to June 2021...not sure if we’ll ever be able to keep that one

So, we also have a November 2021 2 week trip booked...really hoping to keep that one!

We aren’t against masks...or any other safety things going on right now. It’s all for the best. Lack of firework shows, some places to eat closed hurts ....but to be expected.
Hope no one really has to cancel anything after this year!

That's fairly close to what we did. Cancelled a 1 week trip in May 2020 and moved it to May 2021 (not looking good for that one if restrictions are still in place - no way I can do masks in that heat and humidity). We also cancelled a 1 week trip in October 2020 and moved it to October 2021 (hoping to keep that one).

Yeah, I hope we ALL can keep our trips. (just not all at the same time, haha)

We are DVC, and just the wife and I...and we had to transfer points to RCI (or what i like to call, lost points) and I'm not looking forward to losing anymore!

My wife doesn't handle the heat so well....so she's already talking cancelling JUNE trip. meh.

Also DVC. I need to call and find out what happens to our points if we don't keep the May 2021 trip. That's the family one so maybe one of our kids will still go and use one of the rooms. When our May 2020 trip was cancelled, they let us return borrowed points to their original use year - those are the ones I'm unsure about. I'm assuming the banked points will just expire if no one uses them.

Yeah...I'm afraid of just that....I think some of these June points are 2019 points.

All the more reason to just GO!

Just a shame that all the places to eat at AKL JAMBO are closed. Or at least i think they are..

I just booked November 2021. Had to cancel November 2020 plans.
I added the Park Hopper Option to my passes. Guess I should remove that??

Agree with most of this except the capacity on buses and parks. Disney has a lot of revenue to catch up on. I find if very unlikely that they will decrease capacity unless forced to.
