2019 Star Wars half marathon

Thinking of heading to Disney April 5th for the week. How crowded will it be that weekend with the Star Wars half marathon
Looks like there are races Friday and Saturday

I was trying to find the route and figure out which park to hit early since I figure it could affect traffic, etc.

We have been to Disney quite a few times but never on a half marathon weekend.
(Last time was Dapper Dans weekend and barely noticed it but this could block roads)

Its not as large as January's race, but it is quite popular, I ran in the inaugural race, it was huge. Largest race I ever participated in. If its April 5th next year then you have to contend with other crowds, as the month of April especially in the beginning is quite busy.

certain roads will be closed in the morning, so depending on when you're arriving, you may run into traffic issues or delays.

Yeah thanks to kids school break that is when we have to go. Family wants to do Universal as well so its either 2 days at universal then 6 at Disney or Disney for 6 then Universal for 2. I was a vote for 2 at Universal first (over the marathon weekend). Family is for Disney then Universal.

We are pretty good at scheduling fastpasses but when we stay at Universal we stay at one of the hotels with a express pass sooooo family says it is hard to go from express pass to waiting in line at Disney.
My attitude is that Universal is fun (an amusement park) but Disney is a resort so I like to go there second.

I had pretty much given in to them then saw that first weekend was the half marathon.
