It's Friday, March 1 and ...
... as of 12 noon CT, registration for the 2014 Louisiana Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K is now open.
This was my first half marathon less than two months ago (check out my race-ish report and cool pix from the 2013 race) and I'm highly considering going back because I had a blast! Entry March 1 for the half is $55 and $70 for the full marathon. It's much much much much less than the $175 I'm forking over the 2013 Disneyland Half and soon for the 2013 Wine and Dine Half (going to run for the coast to coast medal, new year's resolution).
Race officials have set caps - 2,000 for marathon and 5,000 for half marathon.
So, who is with me in Baton Rouge the third weekend of January? Great running weather. The 2013 race time temp was 41 and rose moderately through the run to about the mid-50. Race coordinators say this a flat course with little elevation. There is this one bridge that is dubbed, well dubbed by me "Bread Hill" because it smells like bread because of the bread factory below.
I will likely register in the next few days.
Did I mention the post-race bash of FREE food and FREE BEER??? Yup. Pretty good free beer too. Remembering downing a nice coffee porter.
