The family has been thinking about running in this half for sometime now. And as I am the "expert" of all things disney, I am in charge of planning this. I have see a couple different dates for this one, and am really wanting to get my hotel and everything squared away early. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Nov 9-10 is the latest date. They moved it from the start of Food & Wine to the end. They decided to hold the Tower of Terror 10 miler the previous date. The new date should be pretty solid.

As we tend to travel at the end of Sept beginning of Oct for our vacations to WDW, Im kind of excited about the date change. It gives me an opportunity to run the ToT next year or the following year instead of repeating the same event.

I would assume dates are solid as Dreamfinder mentioned.

For the second year running the Wine and Dine half is now on "New Jersey Weekend" - The weekend of the annual NJEA convention.

All schools in NJ have the Thurs and Friday off.

Wonder if that was planned.

Thank you all for your responses. I'm not sure how I feel with the new days. I was kind of excited to go end of September, maybe take advantage of the Halloween feel. But I traveled to the World about the same time in November in 2010 and loved that time of year. Either way, I'm excited to go and run in it. Is anybody going to participate?

I'm confused. If the Wine & Dine Half was the last weekend in September last year and is November 9-10 this year (Which it was... and it is...) how can both be Jersey Week? (I'm a Jersey resident and this confuses me!)

We went last year and, it being my first time attending the Food & Wine festival OR running in a Disney race (I did the 5k, others in my party did the half), it was an amazing weekend. We stayed at Port Orleans (which I love, but which also happens to be one of the Host Resorts for the weekend) and, the day after the half, rented one of the bungalows at Typhoon Lagoon. It was SUCH a great way to relax after the day of racing (some of us in the morning, others in the evening). I can't recommend it enough. And the 5k was great for families!

I'm sure moving it did allow for more people from NJ to partake....NJ and NY are two humungous markets for Disney.

Also, the entire Osborne Lights should be in full swing for the run, which seems small, but is awesome!!

That part of the course should be improved then. Last year, the lights were up, but only small parts of them were lit during the run.
