2011 New Year's Countdown Shows (VIDEO)

Last night DL and DCA celebrated the new year with awesome firework displays and live entertainment. DCA in particular, kicked it up a notch with the fireworks-and-fountains show at midnight -- the show featured fireworks, lasers, fountains, fire, and more

Also at DCA, elecTRONica celebrated the New Year with a special countdown show and additional fireworks in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot.

I was working WoC last night so I got to see DCA's countdown show. It was a lot of fun! The DCA show was geared more for the younger crowd (but did they really have to include Justin Bieber?). The pairing of pyro and fireworks was great. Given the choice of DL or DCA for spending New Year's Eve, I'd choose DCA.

Last night was one of the most succesful NYE's I've seen Disneyland Resort do. Very fresh, very polished, very bigger-than-life.

DCA suddenly being a vibrant and attractive Resort offering (compared to most of the past decade when the place would empty out before Midnight on NYE no matter what they tried), has really changed the NYE dynamic of the entire Resort property. It seemed to balance the crowds better, everything flowed better, the vibe was very upbeat and fun, and people were having a blast no matter which park they were in. And that was the case even though DCA couldn't do a lot of special NYE decorations due to all the construction walls up. I can only imagine what it's like on December 31st, 2012 when everything is finished.
